No lol. I took a old slot one PII 333 apart and wanted to see the die. But I could not get the metal seal off.

i read in a column that Intels CedarMill and thus Presler will be compatible to Socket775 again. Iam not sure if this will become reality though.

The easy answer is AMD does not have secure production capability for mass production of the chip just yet to meet the exceptionally large demand. To avoid over-shortage price remains premium
