try the Body Shop for body gels. they have oodles of different types of "all natural" remedies...

Do you use a softener when you wash your towels? Have you tried a different washing machine powder?

Most likely causes are the water and/or the soap. Depending on your skin type, there are 2 Aveeno bar soaps that may be a solution:

Also, as mentioned, it could be your laundry products. Try switching to as many "Free" products as possible...We use detergents and softeners which are free of fragrances and dyes, because when our daughter was young, she was allergic to the dyes and/or perfumes in the soaps...Unfortunately, we never have found a "Free" color-bleach substitute, but most aren't TOO bad...

Trust me it's NOT his water - used to live there - water's GREAT. Like others have suggested, try turning down the temp before investing in different soaps, detergents etc.... Hot water actually triggers the "itch".
Try the new Olay body washes that contain cream/lotion/body butter. Apply using one of those scratchy puffy shower things that girls use.

This is probably it. Do you have a water softener? Try using a soap or shower gel made for hard water. Use lotion.

As for me, I use dove night effects with Honey. Nice moisturizer and smells nice too!
I use in on the poofy thing. Once you have used a poofy thing, you will never want to return to regular soaping, it lathers better and takes off dirt/skin better!

I get super itchy sometimes as well but I have excema,it comes and goes though...but recently I've been itchy like crazy.

Well, no matter how "GREAT" the water is, it COULD be the cause of his itches. Couyld be something in the purification process that is bothering him, could be the general make-up of the water itself, (pH, calcium level, alkalinity, etc) OR, it could be any of a dozen or more other things...but just because you used to live there, you can't rule out the water as a POSSIBLE irritant. Lots of people are allergic or sensitive to things that most of us aren't bothered by in the slightest. Just ask anyone with peanut allergies...
YES, if he has sensitive skin, the HOT water could also be a trigger. Kind of hard for us to troubleshoot it over the intarweb...
Probably just dryness. This happens to me, too, except it's usually my upper back and torso. I just live with it and put lotion on when coming out of the shower to help it.
why not avoid using any soap at all for a day or two..? just to see what happens. you are not suddenly going to become filthy because you skip using soap for a few days, The hot water should rinse of most dirt and germs anyway.

Just took a shower with the Ivory Bar soap and all I can say is WOW!!! What a difference.
It was obvious this soap did not have any added dyes, detergants, or lotions because it did not smell like lotions or anything. And after I rinsed I could feel my skin without any film or layer of lotion or anything just dry skin. I know its kind of hard to explain that but I gave it a try.

Like everyone else said its probably your hard water.
Though when I lived in the Mojave Desert for a while it didnt seem to matter if the water was soft or not.
I always had to put a little lubriderm on me at least once a day. More on the knees and elbows.
Oh, and the Ivory soap suggestion is good too.
