Why am I seeing Katharine McPhee everywhere on TV

Seriously, WTF? I saw her on Leno, and now on Rachel Ray (don't ask me why I watched). Both times she sang live, it sounded like crap.

What do you guys think of her? And why all of a sudden she is the next hot thing?

Just like Alex Rodriguez was on Martha, and 10 minutes later he's on Regis and Kelly. He just came out with a new book or something.

for any kind of promotion they tour the media circuit... when Alba has a new movie coming out, there's like 15 videos of her various appearances over a span of 2 weeks... so I hear.

Yep. She looks great (better than when she was on Idol) and she's a very talented singer. I haven't heard her album though, so its possible that poor songs are the reason she "sounded like crap".

She has a decent voice. Nothing spectacular. I wonder how her CD will do, but considering how stupid Americans are I believe she will hit platinum very quickly.
