Dude, I don't even have time to start commenting into some of your links. Maybe later when I'm not at work.

In a nutshell, they are overflowing with worthless right-wing propaganda.

You should start by finding some unbiased sources.

I think some of those quotes aren't that bad. It never hurts to have a little constructive criticism from time to time. No country is perfect, not even, America.

this thread is recockulous... it amounts to me saying "oh look at the conservatives... they shoot doctors and want to build a wall between us and mexico..."

Yeah, but you'd have to line up all sorts of proof the way he did.

Seem to me to be the major newspapers in each of those areas and the Wall Street Journal. More than that, they all seem to be statements of fact that anything else...

I find it very amusing is that somehow American "conservatives" feel patroitism = conservatism. Also, as long as a self-proclaimed conservative supports concepts that are defiled by conservatives as bad liberal ideas, it's okay b/c since a conservative did it, it's no longer liberal. I.e. conservatives say less govt, Bush just added some new bureacracy that even the White House press secretary has said in not so many words has no real power, just another beaurocratic layer. This is okay b/c Bush is conservative, if a Democrat did this, there would plenty of whining about extra unnecessary govt. Conservatives say there should be less federal govt influence in matters that belong to the states. However, when it comes to school vouchers, it's okay to push a federal agenda down the throats of a local govt b/c hey it comes from the mouth of a conservative, not a liberal. If a liberal tries to push an educational agenda down federal channels, there is a hypocritical uproar. There is some strange perception that liberals are anti-war, even though both world wars were fought with the support of liberal presidents in the White House (both very liberal). Even the past election, Gore supported more military spending than Bush.

Most people who label themselves "conservatives" in the US, are actually only conservative when it's convenient, liberal when it's convenient, but wait for an appointed leader to say "hey since I'm doing this liberal action, we can call it conservative; follow me my dutiful sheep without fear of being labelled a liberal!" btw, sorry about spelling.

You must have a fairly high threshold for bias if you consider the Wisconsin State Journal, MSNBC, Sacromento Bee, Seattle Times, and Wall Street Journal to be "overflowing with worthless right-wing propoganda" :Q

<< well that's actually open to debate, it's not clear cut like you make it out to be. >>

Read some of the Founding Fathers' works and you will see that they clearly mean that the govt. should not recognize one religion over another. Remember why most early settlers came to this country.....to escape religious persecution.

Was there a point to this, other than a flame war? I'm a liberal......and you are basically insinuating that I agree with all of that crap.

Good post with substantial documentation. I would like to see all socio-political / religious threads come with this type of documentation.

<< The Madison School Board barred schools on Monday from using the Pledge of Allegiance as a way to comply with a new state law that requires a daily patriotism dose.
Instead, schools can use only the national anthem - and then only instrumental versions of it. No words.
>>

The Pledge of Allegiance can't be spoken and the National Anthem can't be sung in a school?
I am afraid.
I am very afraid.
