Hey all,

I've been trying to find information on this and am having difficulty locating the right answer.

Is software raid 5 a possibility with WHS?

I am building an HTPC/server soon and am still choosing the OS. I'd like, if possible, to save money and not purchase a hardware raid controller.

There's no need, just enable file duplication, which is basically RAID 5. I just had a 1TB drive fail on my WHS unit, replaced it with a 2TB and all is well, no files lost.
