WHS + Power Pack 3 = Broken Connector?

I have two Acer Aspire WHS. The one at my home works fine and can access the server via the connector software. The one in my office recently stopped working with the connector software. I initially tried to uninstall/reinstall the connector software on one of the workstation PC (Windows Vista Ultimate x64) and I keep getting the error:

"An Error Occured

This operation cannot be completed at this time. Please try again later."

I can no longer connect to the server's page at: http://server:55000 and I've tried all the variations of Microsoft's test for the firewall.

I know it's not he workstations, I have 3 PCs (2 XPs, 1 Vista) connected and all cannot use the connector software. I have a new Windows 7 Ultimate x64 system that also cannot install the software, giving the above error message. The server will still initiate backups on the remaining computers that have the connector software though.

The only thing recently installed was Power Pack 3 and it did that sometime by itself on Sunday, Dec 27th. I don't know if the connector stopped working before hand, as I never bothered to access the server via the connector until recently to install on the new Win 7 system.

In any case, I just wanted to know amongst WHS owners if anyone else had this problem with PP3. And if so, whether they found a solution or not. I really would hate to have to reinstall the OS.

Thanks!

Nevermind, I figured out the problem. But for anyone curious, it looks like after browsing the wegotserved forums it seems that I'm not the only one with this problem. After looking at the services, I noticed that my IIS Manger was not running and would not start. Gave me the error: 2145318902 I looked that up and came across this post: http://geekswithblogs.net/mhamilton/archive/2006/12/13/101055.aspx which helped me restart the service. Before doing so, I had tired unplugging/plugging in my router, various switches, uninstall the connector software, uninstall power pack 3 to no avail.

Oh, and another symptom that it seemed to resolve was when using the remote desktop to login, I would get a certificate error. That's gone now.

Thanks for the update--never know when something weird like this will come up and it's nice to see the resolution for it (I hate finding posts 2 years old about a problem but no one ever updated with the answer).

Hmmm. Interesting. It's been a few weeks since I blew up my otherwise perfect WHS with the PP3 update...but this sounds like the issue I was having - also on an Acer H430. I was running the PP3 beta on it before the final PP3 came out with zero issues. I quickly lost patience after it broke and I restored the WHS machine. The restore works beutifully, in case your'e wondering.
