Thinking about building a storage server.

Would be running WHS 2011, installed on an AMD RAID mirror of 3TB Toshiba AF drives, on an A88X chipset (FM2+ board).

Do A88X chipset boards support UEFI and greater than 2TB RAID? Does WHS2011 support a UEFI install to the boot drive (RAID mirror)?

The Reason that I ask this is, my 990FX board supports UEFI, and AMD RAID, but in order to have both UEFI and RAID, you had to enter cryptic UEFI command-lines to build your RAID. It was also very ill-documented. As opposed to simply enabling the (non-UEFI) AMD RAID option ROM, complete with text gui menus for setting up arrays.

It should install, but I would personally use a smaller drive for just the os and lave the 3tb drives for the storage.

Just in case something happens with the os it does not hose the data drives.

You will need to have the amd raid driver on a flash drive to select it at install if you are going to install on the amd mirror

I agree with Dahak.

My WHS 2011 is on a 60GB SSD and performance is outstanding.
