My current favorite is Jadakiss, or anyone from D-Block for that matter.
All time is Biggie

I grew up not really listening to music, but I played two instruments so when I listen to a song i'm really listening to the beats. A lot of the really talented rappers like Canibus, Taleb Kwali, etc. etc. have boring beats to my ears and so I can't really get into them. That said though, I'm also a fan of the gangsta era, I love the instrumentals in most biggie/2pac songs. One of my favorite songs is Kurupt's On Site, I can't get enough of that beat. Anyways, my favorite rapper is probably Biggie. I love 2Pac's work but if I had to choose between 2pac's best work and biggie's, Biggie's is more appealing to me. Win/Win situation with either vote imo. I wish Kurupt had done more though. When he's on I love his work
yeah i love that song too. it was on the and1 tape... most of the stuff off the and1 tapes is pretty cool. i heard some of kurupts other stuff and dont really like it that much actually. its just that song.
I listened to "behind the walls", kurupt and nate, a couple days ago. Great song.

I can say little about rap without trolling in the matter. So, I'll say I got into it first with the rap trax tapes (don't believe, don'tbelieve, don't believe the hype), and later snoop dogg and Dr. DRE around 1994. Currently I think Eminem is the best rapper, and I have to leave this thread before i say something negative. Bye!

Dr. DRE but my exposure to rap includes Snoop Dogg, Dr. DRE and Eminem so my opinion is worth nothing.

None.

But if I had to pick one, probably Eminem.

Who cares. Most rappers have ZERO tallent, other than fumbling around the stage in the FVCKING DUMBEST excuse-for-clothing I've ever seen while yelling off-key into a microphone as fast as they can. There are only two exceptions to this: Eminem (because I respect a white rapper) and Beyonce :D :D :D :p  Yum. :D

Most rappers have zero talent? Please, you're completely disillusioned. It takes great skill to rap with proper cadence and flow. You have no sense of how hard it is to rap well.

Sorry, I just don't consider yelling/talking to a rhythm any sort of skill at all. I would be astounded if more than 20% of the "professional" rappers out there actually knew how to play an instrument or had any clue about the apreciation of music with regard to structure, reading notes on a page while playing an instrument, composure (other than rhythm), etc. I can respect rappers who actually sing or write music instead of act like human beaboxes. The entire persona bragging about being an extreme druggie, killer, and pimp is such a turn off to me.
