Quite a while ago...

If you'll remember, Insane3D was kind enough to send me his old "junk", which consisted of a Duron 800 @ 1GHz. I used that system for like a year, before I upgraded to a previous incarnation of this system. The caps in the board I bought blew, so I went back to the Duron system while I RMA'd the board. I did get a replacement, but was busy at the time. So it ended up sitting around for a month or two. When I finally went to put the system back together... the board was dead. And since it had been so long, they wouldn't do anything.

So I had to go out and buy a new NFS7-S.. which is what I'm running the mobile CPU in now. That was like.. hmm, 6 months ago.

right now, my oldest computer still in use is a athlon t-bird 1.33ghz, but i have a complete (w/o monitor) compaq 486 66mhz box lying around somewhere that should still work.

this morning i was using my 12 year old Compaq Presario CDS 833. Pretty intel i486-SX, never failed me once (those whopping 33 mhz still can play games too!). 8 mb o' ram. 270 mb hard drive. a humungous 1 megabyte of video memory for 256 colors, a sb 16 sound card, and microsoft's most stable operating system, windows 3.1.

My secondary computer is a p166, 128mb, 13 gig hd. Haven't used it in over a year though.

I have a 486/66 that could be booted...It has a nic. but it has no heatsink fan ATM (stole it when my chipset fan died on my t-bird 900 ~4 years ago, so I doubt it'd run for long...
