That's 'cause they all look like those cheap desks from ikea or staples! People think they're getting a deal at $75 or $200, but the desks look like they're worth $20. I bought a quality desk for $1800 and it's solid wood (walnut) 'cause i couldn't afford the solid cherry or mahogany and i have a nice cognac coloured finish. Too bad i can't post pics yet.

Mine is custom to fit the wall and my tower (Antec 1240 SX). It is also messy.
Messy Desk
Tower/scanner/desk The edge banding is coming off the front of my desk. I sit in the chair and the arm rest goes under the desktop. I stand up and the chair rises, catching the banding on the rest.

Edit
When I built it I covered the top in lexan. But only beacuse I had a piece laying around.
Pics were taken with a Kodak DC 4800 from a Hot Deals thread last year. I got a great deal.

not everyone has 1800 bucks to spend on a desk and even if I did I never stay in one place for mroe than a year and prefer the disposible nature of a 80 dollar staples desk. now if I could ever settle down I'll prolly just build my own desk before I spend 1800 on a desk.

I'll have some pics of my multi monitor monster later tonight once I get the pics uploaded off my phone.
