Cretian or whatever.
Our ex-prime minister...used to be friends with Bill Clinton.
Never liked him...Martin is better than he was, but not by much...

Any real "Conservatives" in DC?

Nope. Blame it on the Democrats, which I don't doubt would have spent on pork but that's what they're known for. The so called "Conservative" wrecking crew in DC has placed more pork than Democrats could ever hope to do. The Dems should really be proud.

Oh, and no, it actually only takes one party currently to sign off on pretty much anything. They also could trash it but they happily keep on piling on the pork.

I'll be the last person to ever give Bush any high praise on the budget and spending. But I think watching the left demonize him as a sole proprietor on the issue is pretty pathetic. Congress, which consists of plenty of quacks from both sides of the aisle, is equally responsible.

Fiscal Conservative Senators should just put an Anti-Torture rider in every spending Bill.

Ah, so it's the minority party of the Senate and the House's fault? Right....right!

If you vote in favor of something its your fault yes.

Which of these pork filled bills that you hate so much was passed on a straight party line vote? Point to it if you can; after all you point at the Republicans all the time.

You advocate cutting education spending that Bush implemented, you blame the dems for something Bush enforced and supported...

Must be nice to think everything your guy does is right...just keep blaming the other side. How you can not condemn your president for something you obviously don't agree with is beyond me.

Nothing more than a partisan hack.

The Democrats voted for, enforced, and supported those bills. You know that little detail about how congress writes laws?

So how about we blame both parties, since neither will ever cut spending?

You just can't admit that he is a weak and ineffective president, can you?

Your talking points have been dismissed :D

If all you want to do is parrot Bush-hate, start a separate thread about it.

So ineffective he won 2 elections!

I guess that answers the question that you can't. All of your arguments are based on "Well, but the Democrats!"

Your form of arguments are all based on avoiding and changing the subject, way to go.

Right dems are minorities in not one, but both houses and the Republican president has to sign whatever congress passes and somehow it's the democrats fault. They tried the same BS with exonerating Reagan's reckless debt pen, did'nt fly then even when he had a democratic congress and won't fly now. Because Clinton showed how to freeze the government with his veto and veto threats. Guy accually had a a pair, guy actually worked tward balance you so called conservatives claim you like. No idea why the right disliked him considering he was probably the most fiscally conservative president since Eisenhower.

I guess you need to exercise them regularly for them to work ;)

I wouldn't give Bush the credit for winning the elections.

In 2000, I give the Supreme Court credit for the Bush victory.

In 2004, I give Karl Rove massive amounts of credit. Anyone who can turn an election that should have been about the incumbents last four years, including a major terrorist attack and 2 wars, into an election about gay marriage and Swift Boats deserves all the credit he can get.

Bush just stood up there and said "I'm a good Christian!" and "Yee-haw! I'm jus' a Connecticut blue-blood preten'ng to be'a Texas cowboi!" and bashed some gays. Nothing special.

Guess Gore couldn't get his SCOTUS buddies to vote for him, and Kerry coulnd't even bash gays properly.

The joys of having your father's nominees on the SCOTUS.... and why would one want to bash gays? Seems counterproductive to bash the voters...

i'd have a lot more respect for Democrats if they at least opposed some of these ridiculous spending bills, but the fact is that they are not doing that. in my opinion, they are seriously shooting themselves in the foot. they could remake themselves as a party that is more conservative fiscally and garner many votes, instead of perpetuating the stereotype that Dems are big spenders.

True, so true. The only reason I can even fathom voting for a Republican is the specter of fiscal responsibility. If a Democrat came along that promised fiscal responsibility at the same time as social liberalism, they'd have my vote.

LOL

I'm not defending him at all here. I've said I disagree with his failure to veto (some) spending measures. I'm just pointing out how transparent the left is with their constant "I Hate Bush!" mantra. It failed in 2004, and it will fail miserably in 2006.
