Superman. But I'm liking Daken right now.
Hulk, especially after reading the epicness of Planet Hulk.
Daken has a ton of potential. just not sure what they are going to do with him.
oh man planet hulk was very epic. scary what the hulk can do.
my favorite is Deadpool.
Dead Pool = Awesome
I'm going to have to give planet hulk a watch. You guys recommend?
Mine's Spider-Man.
I would do a poll, but there are two many.
I haven't watched the cartoon. i had the comic series. well worth getting and reading. the hulk kicks much ass.
The troll boat has sailed again.
Please stop making an ass out of yourself.
Thanos. I know he's not a hero, but he saved the universe more than once. Also, he kills everyone who crosses him.
Best answer.
Why Hulk? (don't get me wrong he's awesome) no one ever says hulk. :hmm:
Exactly - Hulk is the total underdog, always getting shat on, disrespected, and thought of as a brute monster. In Planet Hulk he shows the reader that there is more to his personae than just a childish monster and grows in character. The story brings out emotions while reading it, something rare for Marvel comics, and I think this was in part because the writer had more freedom since it didn't happen on Earth.
In Planet Hulk, he's stuck in an even worse situation than usual, but ends up as emperor of planet Sakaar. It's a tragic tale in the sense of old school Shakespeare, where the hero just can't find peace no matter what he does, his entire existence is essentially cursed but he tries his best to deal with things and in the end shows compassion and a complexity of character which previously was unknown to the Hulk reader.
Of course, after everything is said and done, he's emperor, rescued the planet, and has children on the way, his past comes back to haunt him when the spaceship explodes, creating the backdrop for World War Hulk and his attempt to get revenge on the people that wronged him. Unfortunately World War Hulk had all the buildup to a potentially fantastic epic tale but fell short, and didn't end up being as good as Planet Hulk.
Hmm interesting, would you say I'd need to read it from the beginning or can I just jump in? Also does he spend any time as bruce banner while he's not on earth?
I don't want to spoil the story too much if you're going to read it; best bet is to start from the beginning of Planet Hulk and read through. The number of issues involved isn't that many, and I believe they have the entire thing in one book at Barnes & Noble (or your local comic book shop). In short answer to your other question, the Bruce Banner portion of his personality and the Hulk portion of his personality end up being in equilibrium.

I am sure we can agree?
Ok matey, that sounds good, would you recommend I read earlier hulks first, I.e. Incredible Hulk 1968 - . I'll look out for a copy of the book you suggest.
