Walter - first season of fringe, not so much in current season, writers screwing with the plot too much

Jonas Blane, aka Snake Doc, The Unit.

SD: "This here is Black, and this is White. They are here to help us assault this plane and rescue the hostages."

FBI agent: "I thought you said your names were Black, and White?"

SD: "I did. They're our brothers."

*Goes to storm the plane. All hostages are rescued, no terrorists survive.*

I've had time to think of some other ones:

The lead character in Prison Break, but only for the first season. They stopped focusing on him and his talents in season 2, and it's dragging for me.

The Evil racist in PB is also a wonder to behold, but as with the lead they've muddled him up in the second season. He's a pure straight-up evil cartoon, and has lost the slimy, human charm he had in S1.

Miles, the smart-ass asian character in Lost. I always found him entertaining.

Sam Malone

Alex P. Keaton

I thought the white-trash character in "the Walking Dead" was extremely well done, but maybe he's just playing himself.

As mentioned before - Captain Mal. And the compainion, just for looks.

Probably Jean-Luc Picard as well.

Hugh laurie's House would be a close second.

There are lots of other shows that I love that don't have particular actor(s) that stand heads and shoulders above everyone else though.

The whole cast of Always Sunny is pretty epic as well, each for their own reasons.
