Who's winning?

PSP probably.
The DS looks like something for middle school students, and that's only 2 years of schooling for them, whereas if you were in high school, you might hit the PSP. But then again, college students would probably invest in a laptop. just my thought'z

I think the DS is outselling the PSP a lot in Japan, but i don't know. I'm sure someone will post the facts soon. The DS has a better game lineup though, so i'm glad it's selling well, more bucks for Ninty.

Would love to have PSP and a DS.

PSP FTW
Games, music, photos, streaming music, movies, new update with web browser, and soon be able to DL playstation games to my mem card and play them 🙂
I loves me PSP 😀😀😀😀

Nintendo DS is decimating the PSP in sales ever since Nintendogs came out. Add the DS Lite which has caused massive hysteria in Japan and expects to be sold out in North America when it launches in June, and you have a pretty clear winner.

I'll never buy a PSP. While I'll admit it's damn cool, I'd be too afraid to break such a high-end portable device, especially a Sony that craps out if you blow on it.

well what I think is cool about the PSP is that it has some first person shooter games on it that allows you to co-op over wi-fi, this can be an awesome experience for a handheld device without all the extras that comes with a desktop/laptop.

I could be wrong, but, I am ALMOST POSITIVE you can do that on a DS.

IMO, the DS is far superior, after, playing quite a bit with my brothers PSP and my own DS.

And as far as sales, the DS is destroying the PSP, largely because Nintendo is reaching new audiences with titles such as Nintendogs and the Brain games.

meh, I'm sure the DS has sold more, but the PSP is def the better device; and then there's me who just bought a gameboy micro.

for the most part the games are better on the ds, but the psp has more to offer. as much as i love lego star wars i love untold legends equally.

True, but hardware specs isn't what sells consoles. Anyway, last sales figures I saw had the DS way out selling the PSP, unfortunately I can't find those figures at the moment. 🙁

Kinda found the figures, they're not total units sold from day one, but they're fairly current.

Actually, I think the DS/PSP wars will soon play out in the home version: PS3 vs. Wii. The DS isn't as technologically advanced nor does it have awesome graphics, but it's got some damn good games and an innovative way to control your games. Your PSP will do everything but the laundry, and yet it's not exactly selling like gothcakes. Factor into that the prices ($250 vs. $120, and the DS games are a bit cheaper than your PSPs [don't get me STARTED on UMDs]), and I find it hard to fathom that Sony missed this connection.

DS, for one reason only: Nintendo knows the difference between original games for a platform, and porting games to a platform.

Sony wants people to be able to play console games on a handheld, which just isn't going to happen very well. Sure, they'll be decent, but after the console version it's just not as fun.

Nintendo on the other hand, doesn't give two craps about porting games, they're writing all original content for the DS, so everything is customized and optimized, and plays way better than anything on the PSP.

Maybe sony should have released a light version of psp where it only plays games so then there would be a cheaper version and a omfg this is a chunk from my pay check version. Like Ipod did with its many versions >_>...

I have both a DS and a PSP ... the PSP is a really cool device ... but yeah, more games for the DS. They're taking their sweet time coming out with good games for the PSP. The DS Lite was sold out at MAJORITY of places in Japan at the $150 price. The only places that I could find a DS lite ... their prices were about $225.
