Since I'm going "naked" with my DSL tomorrow & I don't want to run up my cell bill on customer service calls, I got a Skypein #, and Skype Pro.

Have this coming from Amazon since I don't want to leave a PC on 24/7

<---fingers crossed, hoping AT&T doesn't fusk up my dsl, typically they screw something up and I'm left talking to them for days on end trying to get them to give a crap about what they've done...

I wonder if there is a Skye program for BlackBerries so I can go VoIP through my BIS.

I nearly bought a wifi phone, but the reviews aren't very good, all this stuff seems to be first or 2nd generation, hope it's not too crappy...

LookingGlass, if you've got a direct #, I'd sure appreciate a PM...

We've used it for PC->Phone and the quality was pretty good. We bought a USB speakerphone that was "certified" for Skype.

TWC has a stranglehold on central texas.

Tell me about it. We used to have some competition, but time warner drove most of them out.

At least waco has more than one cable company.

We've used Skype for about 2.5 years.

SkypeIn - about 1 year

SkypeOut - about 1 year

i used skype for a while while i was moving. awesome service. clear voice. i have the 14.95 unlimited for a year calling plan. initially i had skypein but there's really no point to getting it anymore.if someone gonna call me they call on my cell. if i expect a long call i use skype.

moral of the story. if u wanna save money. consider whether u need skypein or not.

ps skypein is really great if you travel a lot.

i use skype a lot to talk with my friends. also use it like teamspeak. i did use to have skypeout but back then the quality wasn't awesome cause we didn't have a very fast connection. now it's great though.

I use SkypeOut whenever I have a customer service call like my credit card, Dell customer care or my web host support.

Otherwise if it's a personal call I'll use my cell phone.

Even at the regular price of $30 per year it's worth every penny.

I need a phone # I can give out and I really hate the idea of giving out my cell # to anyone but family & friends. Skypein should work fine. All Skypein calls are free, and calls to 800 #'s are free with Skypeout.

I use Skpye to call internationally- works flawlessly, in my experience.
