You thought he was huge then, you should see him now.The man's made tremendous gains with his workout routine. Only a fool would fight with him.
Or somebody who has good fighting skills and is not intimidated by "Gym" muscles. At 51 I seriously doubt I am even close to the toughest guy here. On top of that I haven't been in a fight for over 25 years and even then although I won I was hurting for over a week (kind of makes one wonder if they actually won anything).

In my book the toughest guys are those who overcome devastating personal or emotional situations not those who can't seen to keep themselves out of fights.

Agreed to the bolded part. That is the definition of tough in my book. The guys who are always getting themselves into fights are usually the weakest of men in every other way.

To answer the OP's question, it would have to be The Mean Mod. I've seen him fell many a man with a few choice words and flick of his wrist. :Q

(j/k)

i remember having these discussions when i was 12, too.

Well, I've been helping a friend who owns a bar by doing security/checking IDs and generally taking out the trash one night a week.

Red has it right. Tough is avoiding the fight in the first place. At the last resort, tough to me is restraining the person so they cannot hurt others, themselves, or me.

For this, size matters. It helps that I have it and I have no doubt size was a major reason why my friend asked me to help. That, and my military training (and military barroom brawling training) certainly helps. But it went beyond that. He knows my ego wont get in the way and I wont be acting like billy badass. There is a certain kind of "tough" that only comes with maturity.

It's easy to be tough and hide behind an email address. Unless you know someone personally you don't know. I see toughness as someone who stands up for their beleifs regardless of the situation. Toughness is standing up for what you beleive for, and you can't measure that by posting on message boards.

You remind me of a friend I had back in High School. He was a little runt be he had the biggest heart out of anybody I knew.At partu=ies he'd get drunk and go look for the biggest guys to tangle with. Of course he got his ass beat every time but it never stopped him.

I'm not one to look to fight, but with enough of a reason I can headbutt my way through a room if need be. A nice bearhug if the guy isn't too wide works well too. Alot of times it's just your heart & determination to get your point across that saves you from actually getting into a fight.

If you say so, I always thought it was common sense, knowing when to keep your mouth shut, minding your own business or knowing when to vacate a premese when things got dicey.
