Ray Guy and Chris Mohr, both punters in the NFL, are from my hometown (very small town). Played little league with Chris. Hmmm, maybe I should have kept playing???

Bo Jackson.(Played for the Raiders) He used to live in my Condo Complex. I used to play football with him until he moved out when the Raiders moved to Oakland. =(

Wow, that just reminded me. My history teacher in 8th grade in Texas, where I live, is Bo Taylor, and he was a football player for the raiders I think it was...or it may have been some other football team. (I'm a senior in high school now, so it wasn't that long ago that I had this teacher). He is actually a really cool guy to be around, and he's really nice.

Anand Shimpi
-I went to high school with Anand and watched as this site went from geoshitties up where it is today, pretty cool stuff 😉
Chris Wilcox
-Went to my high school my senior year. Cocky sob, but awesome dunker, should be interesting to see how he does in the pros
Robert Jordan
-Writer of many sci-fi books, he's the pseudo stepfather for one of my cousins, very cool guy
Jim Goodnight
-The founder and owner of SAS. He's a really nice person but not one to fvck with. Worth something like 6 billion...

AND.....

-I know the girl who won last year's Stuff Magazine college scholarship contest. She's smart as heck, hope to get a date some time 😉 😀

My friend's uncle is John Cougar Mellencamp. I met him once or twice... And a couple of Philadelphia Flyers live within 5 blocks or so of me.

Well I wouldn't say he's famous, but he is very well known/disliked in my province.
He's former premiere Glen Clark and has been my neighbor for 15 years.

Hey ... didn't I see you over at the NBI?!! Lumberman's Social Club?!

Just kidding!

No offense - but are you being serious or are you kidding? I didn't know there was someone named Glen Clark on Hee Haw.

Peter Jackson! I work for a small film company here in Auckland, NZ and he came up about 6 months ago to meet my boss. My boss is some crazy British guy so I hate to think what they spoke about. Anyway, I had to help Jackson with a problem in his laptop. 😀 He's really quietly spoken.

The dude looks like a hobbit. He should have cast himself as Bilbo Baggins.

I am related to, and have met on several occasions, Bruce Boxleitner and his wife, Melissa Gilbert..

He is in the ultra-gay band 98 degrees. He went to my high school. So did his sister. His mom was the cheerleading coach.

I hated them all. All a-holes!

i think you're just bitter because u wanted to be in his group but they didn't let u.
hahahahahah

i think it is pretty funny how the thread asks who you know personally, and half of the responses have been, "so and so went to the same high school as me (10 years apart)", "i've met so and so", "my friends, cousins, roommates' friend had a class with so and so", etc.

😀 Nope, i know no one famous personally, i have met tons of athletes but this thread asked for people you know personally, so none.

hehe....interesting thread. Too many "my cousin's roommate's boyfriend hang's out with so-and-so's cousin...so we're like practically brothers!" 😉

I'm good friends with the head writer of "Young and the Restless" (yes, the soap opera). His name's John Smith (I'm not kidding, either ... .http://www.cbs.com/daytime/yr/behind_scenes/about.shtml ). That credits page says he's a co-head writer, but he was recently promoted. And, generally, he goes by Jack, and has several Emmy's.

My dad did a remodel on his Sunriver (Oregon) home (one of 3) and he's a really cool guy, despite writing for a soap opera <hehe>.

The most famous person I've met before (just had to throw this in, as I missed the original thread): Jennifer Love Hewitt. She went to our high-school homecoming with A.C. Slater from "Saved By The Bell" and she sang the national anthem at one of our football games. She was doing that aweful McKenna TV series (back in '94). My friend (a chubby, geeky kid) actually had the balls to ask her to homecoming, but was obviously turned down.

But I digress...just had to throw that in. 🙂.

Dont really know him personally, yet, but I files uit yesterday against the boxing champion Larry Holmes. Also was interviewed by the local paper regrading same as Holmes is somwhat of a local celebrity.

Never known any famous people personally.

My sisters met the drummer from Creed.

I grew up in Tallahassee, so I've met a lot of good football players (Warrick Dunn, Peter Warrick, Chris Weinke, Charlie Ward <- basketball now, Sebastian Janikowski, Andre Wadsworth, Robert Morgan).

I was covering Jeb Bush's inaguration for gov. of florida for my high school newspaper (snicker). I walked around for about 10 mins afterward, then decided to head back for the car. As I was walking back, I heard a big commotion behind me. I turned around, right into Jeb's chest. He was being hounded by a crowd of the press behind him, and he wasn't even looking at me as he plowed ahead. He's a big dude, probably 6'2", and I was only 5'8" at the time. Needless to say, the laws of physics took over, and I went down like a prom date.

So, I got bowled over by one of the Bush Brothers. I guess that's the closest to real fame I've ever come 😀

P.S. I didn't vote for dubya.

I've met a few celebs in my life, but I doubt many would know who the h*ll I was if I walked up to them on the street tomorrow. That's what you're asking, correct? The only somewhat famous person that would fit that criteria with me is Christian Fittipaldi from the Newman/Haas CART race team. I see him at races and he knows who I am when I come by the hospitality tent.
