Who's The Biggest Competion That eBay Has?

Anyone know who is considered the next best alternative to ebay as far as AUCTION sites are concerned just like ebay, who their biggest auction competition is?

From what I gather the next biggest is eBid.

Granted there are heaps of alternatives out there, it's not what the post is for, just PLEASE post ONLY the biggest competion that ebay has.

Ok so everyone got that?

PLEASE POST ONLY THE BIGGEST COMPETION EBAY HAS FOR SIMILAR AUCTION SITES

I'm hoping this post will help people learn who ebay's competition is!

THANKS

They are not online auction sites...

Neither is Ebay. -> Buy it now!

Yes of course when you do 'Buy it now', but eBay is still classified as an Auction site...

Ok according to the Nasdaq a few years back the biggest competition just for selling sites as competition against eBay were Yahoo Auctions, Amazon and zShops. Overstock is in there too, not sure where it falls in the ranking...

Why are you being so militant about people replying with amazon or similar? Your OP doesn't ask what the biggest auction site competition is. In fact you explicitly state "next best alternative to eBay".

Amazon. No, its not an auction site. Yes, its eBay's biggest competitor. I don't know why you're refusing to accept this answer, as it is the correct one.

-eBay stores vs Amazon merchants
-eBay auctions vs Amazon marketplace
-Paypal vs Checkout By Amazon

yahoo doesn't have US auctions anymore

Amazon is their biggest competitor. I've been writing a number of 10 pages papers on ebay this semester. There is amazon and only amazon. ebay owns part of craigslist

I made the post to imply other similar auction alternatives, not just market places for buying...

THANKS

Yes, but by that thinking Taco Bell is not "competion" for McDonald's.

The ONLY real difference in all the previously named sites is the way the price is determined.

ebay has been transitioning to a marketplace, not an auction site, for years now. They keep alienating the smaller sellers, too, so that it's pretty much stores now and ebay's stupid fees and policies. I hate you ebay and PayPal.
