So yah, this movie kicked complete ass! It was SSSSSOOOOOO different than the second one. While it had it's touch of gadgets and stuff that doesn't seem too plausible, it still felt "realistic" in the sense that 24 seems realistic, except you never really saw him do anything unbelievable with a pistol in this movie (like take out a helicopter with 1 pistol shot like jack bauer). It didn't have any of that over the top unbelievable stuff that John Woo threw all over the place in MI2.

The villian was a badass in this movie too. He was just a very straight up asshole who didn't fvck around. This movie has action from the very beginning to the very end, non stop.

I definitely recommend this movie, DEFINITELY the best one in the series (if that's saying much :p).

Ah, good to know. I know the guy who was supposed to be the DP on the film, and it started as such a clusterf that he pulled out and didn't have much hope for it.

But really, good action can often overcome a weak storyline if your expectations are low going in.

the story is pretty typical, but nothing that is bad by any means. it's just nothing to go write home about. but the action definitely is.

I'll be seeing it as soon as a decent TS or TC is released. Looks decent but not willing to chance a theatre visit

I think it's funny that people won't see a movie because of someone's personality in real life.

Bolded statement makes you have zero credibility to me. 24 is one of the most unrealistic shows in the history of television. Did cruise set up a perimeter around the bad guys, open a socket to his cell phone which for some reason was not on vibrate, trace the binary to his accomplice, literally die or fake his own death 4 times, have to save his girlfriend from a mountain lion, hold up a gas station, survive a nuclear explosion, and infiltrate the white house? Because that's what he would have done in 24.

I'd agree with that.

If its entertaining I couldn't care less. I listen to music by musicians that lead a lifestyle I find hard to swallow, or that do things I don't agree with. Same goes with movies, books and anything else. I just listen, watch or read whatever it is that interests me.

I'm talking about the gadgets more than what he actually does and the terminology used ...

The gadgets in 24 are unrealistic too. There is nothing in 24 that I ever want to see in a movie. It barely is good enough to watch on TV.

Well, I know a lot of people here like 24 a lot more than I do. Even if it's silly unrealistic like 24, that doesn't make me want to see it. I had problems with some of that stuff in the first one. I had hoped that JJ Abrams would bring some real espionage to the movie, since Alias is more like MI than any MI movie, though still not as good as the original series.

wait wait wait... you just lost credibility... it was his hot daughter who got away from the mountain lion and Jack didn't have to save her.

BTW, when Elisha Cuthbert was shooting that scene, the thing actually bit her on the hand and she has a scar from it.

I know but tom cruise doesn't have a daughter (in the movie). He has a random hot girlfriend in the movie. And tom cruise has too big of an ego to let a girlfriend handle a mountain lion without his help.

Tom Cruise is lame. Hell no. Not unless it's free.

JJ Abrams btw is awesome but he really blew it with Alias.
