I get my duron 700 thursday and a gigabite board from what i have heard the first shipping of durons are not multiplier locked so they will overclock no proplem i hope its true. I should be reporting on the duron thursday night.

I am waiting for an improvement in the number and quality of boards supporting the Duron. I bet others are too.

I would have if I found the right socket-A motherboard. The Asus board is just non-existent in the retail channel.

Duron 700s are available locally, but I'm not ready to make the switch from my Celeron yet. Right now I've got all the speed I need. When I build a new system for my sister, I'll probably give her my Celeron stuff, & build myself a Duron or a TBird.

I have my duron 700 in hand but my board has not arived. Me not happy. I hope it will get here on friday. I am running a Cell`2 566@850 and it kicks ass but you no how it is allways wanting the the newer faster stuff.

So someone thinks the early Durons might not be locked...interesting because i have a duron i got at a computer show on july 1 that i havent found a board for yet ill post the numbers and everyone tell me how new it is...i looked at the numbers on Toms hardwares original oc post about the asus board and his is 1 week later than mine 22 mines a 21
