The sale was a joke. Anyone trying to defend it well BWAHAHAHHA.

there were a couple good deals out there... I'm happy with my Fire tv for $25 just to play with, and 40% off a 1-year subscription to Kindle Unlimited, something I would have otherwise paid $10/month for.

definitely did not live up to all the hype that Amazon created for the sale, though.

The only two things that caught my eye "sold out" (in other words, the 5 items they were willing to sell at the sale price disappeared fast) before I could click. Seems stupid to limit sale quantities to such small amounts, but they probably took a loss on lots of those sales, so I guess they had no choice. Either way, traffic was way up, and sales were much better than a normal summer day. A+ for marketing gimmick, F for actual sale. That said, I will still buy almost everything I buy online from Amazon.

Guys should I pull the trigger on this?

http://www.amazon.com/Victorinox-Lu...im_198_2?&ie=UTF8&refRID=1AF41ZV91KF1NBB2R1ZK

Been wanting a nice carry on. Didn't realize that this counts towards the luggage discount. It's $192.77 out the door. I can either get 5% cash back on it or 6 months no interest.

Did you? I didn't see that one, but I would have if I did. My wife's been asking for a new carry on, and that's a quality bag at a good price.

Unfortunately, it looks like Camel didn't catch yesterday's prices (at least for the items I've looked at), so we won't be able to compare.

I really think the sale was rigged. I have a number of items I had opened that went out of stock immediately....that is, until the time of their sale was over, then mysteriously, they had tons of stock at regular price.

PS. The prices were higher on sale than what I paid 2 years ago.

The sale was a joke. Anyone trying to defend it well BWAHAHAHHA.

I really think that when they said they had a 40" TV for 115, they meant just that. A TV, not multiple. I did happen to be on when it went, but of course it sold before I could click, and the wait list was full too.

Got an instat pot duo60 for $99 yesterday. It's normally $125-$135. That was a good deal.

This was really the only deal that caught my eye, but I lost interest really fast in the morning when I saw how they were running it and how it was laid out. What did that TV end up being?

The only item I wanted was on sale during my commute to work. Might just wait for the tax free weekend and get it locally at Best Buy now.

Speaking as an Amazon fanboy, this sale was a total bust. There was a mention of it early this morning on the CBS overnight news and that "some buyers" were disappointed. The newsreader then said she logged on at 3AM and saw a knee brace and one other thing on sale and logged off for the balance of the day.

As someone who remembers when Black Friday sales really meant something, and every spring CompUSA had a great corporate birthday sale, I felt scammed.

I was mostly watching for PS4 games (COD AW, Witcher 3, GTA V, PS Plus Subscription) and some board games (too many to list, it's a new hobby :whiste:). Was definitely a disappointment.

For anyone that didn't have a PS4 already, the PS4+batman+witcher 3 + ps plus deal was really good. The 1TB XBox One + MCC + borderlands + XBL was also good, but not AS good considering the MS Store deals of the last month or two. I thought about it, but considering I just bought a PS4 earlier this month, I didn't jump on that.

I did end up buying CoD: AW gold at the $30 price point (used a $10 discover promo though, so out of pocket was $22 after tax), though had I known the non-gold was going to be $25 a couple hours later, I'd have just waited for that, but it wasn't showing as upcoming when I jumped. Other than that, the only thing I bought was the $45 GC + $10 promo code deal early on.

Talked to my brother, he was quite pleased with his haul, but he needed some weird stuff that just happened to be on sale -- I guess he's been watching for aerogardens to go on sale, and also needed new plates/bowls/etc and found some of each. I think he said he spent ~$250-300 on practical stuff he's just been waiting for decent prices on. /shrug

That just speaks to how stupid many Americans are.

Yea, and I'm sure 70% of them were people who already have CC debt but were buying useless shit they don't need because they fell for the marketing.

hoarders tend to be the poorest people. If they weren't stupid they could be saving money to lift themselves out of poverty.

Y'all realize that #PrimeDay was just Amazon's way of clearing out the warehouses of the shit that nobody ever buys normally right? Just like your typical Walmart/Target clearance sale.

Walmart/Target doesn't do commercials and tons of marketing campaigns for their clearance items.... They put them on a shelf named clearance and put a 15-30-50-75% price cut on it (depending on how long it hasn't been sold).

i have the regular instant pot. love it. here's a really good 1 minute quinoa pilaf recipe.
http://www.hippressurecooking.com/1-minute-quinoa-golden-pressure-cooker-pilaf/

Sweet - another instant pot fan! Our ATOT kitchen appliance fiend (Kaido) talked me into buying one of these a month or two ago and I am in love. I got the 7-in-1 model. The amount of time is saves is worth the money in itself. I'm rarely ever home, but I come home to fresh meals pretty much every night. Worth every penny

When I saw the news about how much they sold yesterday, it just reinforced my belief that there are tons of people out there who have a compulsion to spend and will use the flimsiest of reasons to justify it.

It's hard to believe that any of the people who bought the butter cookies had been holding off waiting for a tiny price cut.

A TCL 40" with a regular retail around 289.

In all honesty, MOST of the deals were crap. A smart buyer could find the good deal using camelcamelcamel.com.

I ended up with a few things myself, and I confirmed all on that site to be as low as their lowest price or fairly close.

One was a vacuum pump for oil changes that was 15% off. That compared to their lowest price ever on the product.

One was a car seat that the wife and I were keeping our eyes open for in the future (new kid on the way).

The other was a simple $15 battery from remote charging of phones as we tend to find ourselves in some situations where our batteries need extra juice.

But all in all, 90% of the deals were crap, 5% were EXTREMELY limited, and the other 5% were good/decent deals. We simply grabbed some items that that fit in the good/decent categories.

Damn you bastards who got the instapot deal. I clicked when it said 80% claimed, but by the time I hit add to cart it was gone...

With 25-30% off ON Protein, then they need to have that sale everyday. I go through a lot of that stuff and have never seen gnc/luckyvitamin.com, or iherb ever sell ON protein that cheap. In my book, the sale was great if you could find something you need.

Bodybuilding.com has always been my source for anything of that nature.... They tend to have pretty good prices. They always have a 15% off coupon somewhere as well.
