Who's ready for GTA San Andreas??

Really though, how AWESOME is this gonna be? I'm still playing GTA VC now, and have been on and off for the past 2 years!! I don't think I've ever played a game for this long.

It's bigger than VC, you can swim and your character can do a lot more stuff. You know why I think this is going to be huge, one of the best games ever? The developers have a proven track record, and it's being released ON TIME!! WOOHOO!!!

I don't think they can beat the 80's soundtrack from VC, but early 90's alternative and gangsta rap should be sweet

Not me. I will eventually pick up GTA:VC though since it's about $20 (or even less used) now. Good gaming series, but I just don't game much these days.

I got turned off by the graphics of GTA:VC on my PS2 ... there was alot of ghosting. I didn't like the controls either.

I played through it on the PC and it was pretty fun.

Vice City is a ridiculously good game. I just beat it the other day and was in awe reading the credits... among others (and not just actors), Ray Liota, Dennis Hopper, and Burt Reynolds were "in" it (ie. voices & 3d models of them)... The real Mr. Magic DJ'd the Wildstyle radio station... I mean, everything is just so well done, even the radio commercials crack me up ("For the strong silent type, a medallion the size of a hubcap says everything that needs to be said"). If you haven't discovered this gem yet, by all means pick it up. My only complaint with Rockstar is that the ps2 version of San Andreas is coming out nearly a full year before the PC version, which is expected in q3 '05 :frown: I'm not paying extra to play games in 640x480. But yeah, getting back to the original topic, I can't wait for San Andreas.

I really wish it wasn't a PS2 only game for the first year. I want to play this game in the worst way, but I only have an xbox and a PC. I've thought about buying a PS2 just for the game, but I can't see spending $200 just to play one game.

Haha I feel ya, I got the PS2 as a gift, and it was mainly for GTA VC. I play console games so infrequently that I can say that it was worth it, really. I played some Mortal Kombat Deadly Alliance, but it wasn't nearly as good.

You can probably find a used PS2 for about 50 bucks these days.

I also read something about Sony releasing a smaller version of the PS2 which will be a bit cheaper than the ones they previously manufactured
