Just joined a league with a bunch of other pepple from work. It's been years since I've been in organized sports, and I am SO looking forward to it. :)

I went ahead and picked up this Easton 34/30 bat, and this Wilson mitt.

Time to hit my wife up (since she works at adidas) for some cleats. :)

Used a little household oil and I beat the hell out of it for a day or so, and now it is almost perfect!

I wish I could... I used to play baseball with friends and intramurals as a 3B. Loved it. But the league was on weekends and I have hockey then also. Priorities, ya know ? ;)

Mentioning a Softball Bat + the phrase "Time to hit my wife up", gave me pause.

I am! Still using a mitt from minor league :).

I definitely need some cleats...

what are the difference between all of these bats? Except for 10x the price from small to large.

First thing you need to do is find out the restrictions of your league. Many leagues don't allow certain bats, or require bats with a particular certification on it.

There are three main differences with softball bats... Length/weight, and quality. To find a comfortable length/weight, you are best off swinging a few and deciding from there.

As for quality, the construction of many of the nicer bats will give you more power. If you are of the amateur variety, like me, then you probably won't notice much of a difference. :)

Softball is for girls.

;) I wish i knew some people in seattle that played. I played in alot of leagues last year, I have so much fun every year.... Anyone need a player in seattle?
