Who's NOT playing HL2 today?

Won't be playing it until January That's when I'll probably have time (and the money) to upgrade my vid card and monitor. But I'll be putting my XBox on the auction block this weekend to help fund it :thumbsup:

I aint paying $55 for it...beside I got EQ2 last week and ive plenty to do on it so I am just going to hold out on this one. Though I very much respect the Half-Life franchise, I hope they make alot of money off this release to empower them to make many more good games.

I bought it (or actually bought an ati voucher), downloaded it, activated it, and it has yet to be fired up. stupid project and midterm on thursday... busy as hell this week.

i just played it for an hour or two. gave me a headache..although other FPS dont. i dont know why. maybe the refresh rate is too low.

I played the first, right when it came out. I know I'm going to take crap for what I'm about to say... But I didn't understand why everyone loved it so. I got about halfway through, and found myself too bored to carry on, and other games got my attention.

So you would say Halo 2 > Halo 1?

Been sooo tempted to get a Xbox, for Halo 2 and also ESPN NBA2K5. going online with those titles would rock. I think those two will be sufficient for a while, until (if) GTA:SA comes out next year for the box.

yep. Hopefully they'll release their third game in the next 4 years, and maybe a possible fourth in the next 8? I may be dreaming though

My reasons I'm not playing it:

1) Don't have the money or time to play it right now
2) Still deciding which version to get, especially since I haven't played CS or the first HL
3) I have enough games now to keep me busy (CoD, BF1942, GTA3, the first Deus Ex...)

2) Video card drivers are fscked and it won't let me update them (can't reformat cuz there's too much stuff to backup right now)
3) Video card sucks anyway

Yeah, it is. If nothing else but for online gaming!

But yeah, I think it's an excellent game all around.

My windows box is a mere Athlon 750 and a Radeon 8500. I doubt it has enough umph to play HL2 or Doom3.

no credit left on credit card, new card supposedly taking some of the balance not delivered yet, bank card went over on monday (had to increase by overdraft as it is tuesday to allow the monthly payment for my Dell computer i bought last year to go thru.....bleaahhhh)

never ever had credit problem like this during the middle of the month before (last working day of month paycheck into bank)...only the last week.........

was gonna go for Gold package till i found out being in England it means paying $135 or so. I only really wanted to the prima book and the audio CD out of the merchandising, not worth it for that price.

definitely going for Silver package online tho, my old HL discs are knackered so saves me buying it all separately and its sourced
(for the person who said they hadnt played HL before, GET THE SILVER VERSION, i dont really like FPS games, but HL just took my breath away and still does despite being over half a decade old now)

Athlon XP 1600+ with Radeon 7000. Anything over 2 dimensions, it'll freak out. :shocked:

i never played HL1 or any mod of it so i doubt i'll ever play any version of HL2. i just can't spend more that 30min max on a FPS and i'm almost never in the mood for even that much.

Haven't bought it and now I don't think I'll be buying it for a while. A couple of reasons, one World of Warcraft has sucked me in. I also work long hours and was just moved from probationary programmer to full time level 1 programmer, sux. And also, a few people already beat HL2 the first day they got it, ranging from 10 hours to 12 hours of play time to beat the game. In my opinion, that's definately not worth the money, kinda like Doom3. I was hoping that the game would keep me busy, entertained, and challenged for a couple of weeks atleast.

I'm not, not playing HL2 today and enjoying every minute of it.

(except for the 30 mins I spent trying to go the wrong way on the river in the airboat)
