at least it looks like it isn't a 4 door, anything with the mustang brand should be a coupe

I don't care for the use of the Mustang name, but that won't stop me from buying one if the performance value is compelling.

My household is done buying gas cars for daily driver duty. We'll probably be fully EV within a year or so, she's waiting on the Y and I'm watching Rivian/Mach-E/Tesla truck.

electric for our second car for sure, its a Volt now, but i doubt i will want an electric truck in the near future. i use my trailer too often and range will surely be an issue while hauling something like my 4k lb tractor.

I'm certainly curious to see it, especially since it's supposed to have a 370-mile range. With that said, if I had my (vaguely realistic) pick of EVs it'd be the Model Y. Even with Tesla's quirks, it strikes me as a good balance between practical reality and that "I'm driving the future" vibe.

230-300 miles range, depending on trim. Starts at $43,895.

Yeah, when I saw the leaked material I was a bit bummed. The vehicle does look aces, though, it's like a little bit of Tesla rubbed off on Ford.

Zune vs iPod. I’m curious how close Zune, I mean Mach-E will be to the targeted spec. So far, production i-Pace, E-Tron, and Taycan have all missed the promised target battery ranges by good bit.

Damn that grill is ugly. Otherwise it looks nice. Seems more like a hatchback than an SUV though. Getting older now, and just bought a new car, but if I buy another new vehicle, I will definitely consider a hybrid or all electric. Range is still a problem though, especially since I live in Minnesota and range is reduced by a lot in cold weather. All electric would be great as a second car, but I cant afford that kind of price for a second car.

Also, not sure I like the huge tablet touchscreens. Seems like it would be very distracting at night. I have a 6.5 inch screen in my newest car, and even that is distracting at night.

I'm not interested in Mustang SUV, but I'm happy Ford is releasing this. The more competition, the better. It's only going to further legitimize the EV revolution and prove Tesla is far ahead of the competition. These auto companies are going to market and sell Tesla cars for them. Tesla can't do it alone.

Why do people feel like it's copying a Tesla? Is it the exterior? Put a grill on it and it looks like multiple other CUV on the market already. Range on the top tier GT model is only quoted at 230mi vs 280mi on the Model Y. Not terrible I suppose. Personally, it would be too small for me and I don't want a 2 door vehicle.

I'm not convinced it's actually a two door.

My evidence:

IMO that's a door line and a rear seat head rest.

Additionally it lines up too well with the Model Y size/range/price points to be accidental, dropping two doors seems counter-productive to mass market appeal in this segment.

I could be wrong, but I hope I'm not. Much like you I don't want a two door.

God that center display is fuuuuugly. Is it really so difficult to recess these things into the dash; they need to stick out like somebody duct-taped an iPad to the dash?

It's funny/sad how they think they need to whore out the Mustang name to sell this car.

As a Mustang owner, I think using that brand name on friggin electric station wagon to be lame as hell. Way to kill the brand, Ford.

I didn't think manufacturers could sink any lower than slapping the Porsche name on one of those family barges. I stand corrected.

Clearly you've never driven one. I had a coworker who had a turbo Cayanne, and trust me it's worthy of the Porsche name. I was thinking
hard on getting the Macan, but the wife shot me down.

The funny thing is that if they would have called this called this vehicle something more fitting like the "Ford Edge ST Electric", I probably would have liked it.

Calling this boring family hauler a Mustang makes about as much sense as making a Ferrari minivan.
