My results:

94c - Core Temp
104c - Hardware Monitor

Clock: 2600 Mhz
Voltage: Auto

Took about 25 mins to get there. Passively cooled Noctua heatsink is good. The idea was to reach the 100c mark and it did. I could feel the heat slowly building up in the room. That was epic 😀


 
Are you trying to kill a perfectly good CPU? Your max temp is 94.8c.
 
If you send me a CPU, I'll drench it in gasoline and torch it for you. It's bound to get pretty hot before it melts. Bound to.

I'm running my 1090T at 1.28v and it runs at a nice 25C idle and about 47C under load with the stock heatsink, and I'm pretty happy with that.

Hey look! I can use an incorrectly calibrated program as well!
It blows my mind that people still use HWMonitor (or even *C) for temperatures. Its like: hmmm, I could either use this 100% accurate ΔTJMax value reported by PECI, or some arbitrarily set number that is more often than not wrong.

All sarcasm aside, the temperature of the CPU cores is being reported correctly for both screen shots using the processors native units, ΔTJMax. These values are 4,3,10,8 for the first and 55,56,52,56 for the second.
The conversion from ΔTJMax to degrees Celcuis is distorted and the reason for the wonky numbers.

I really find there is no reason to use *C for processor temperatures anymore. I lost faith in the system when the main temperature reporting utilities (Real Temp, Core Temp, Speefan, HWMonitor, ect.) still can't correctly make the conversion for my i7 920.

The above also doesn't take into account that TJMax values can vary between different CPUs of the same model, and even different cores of the same CPU.

Yes, Thuban is an amazingly cool-running chip. (First thing comes to my mind is Ahtlon XP when I say this).
