The OP has officially been pwned.

this is the first time I've ever had my credit report checked too.

That's your "Transunion Personal Credit Score", NOT your fico.

Fico tops at 850, not 950.

Equivalent fico for you 'might' be a 740.

yah i'm a noob to this as i said. FICO is the average of all 3 of the credit ones right?

Fico if I'm not mistaken is a different algorithm altogether. Each credit agency calculates the fico based on the information they have, then for example a mortgage lender will probably choose to take the average of all three agency's fico scores when considering credit risk.

Personally I have no idea why transunion offers a different score - I've gotten deceived by them with this as well. :frown:

Mine is not as high as some, but it's high enough to get credit at a good rate when I need it. More importantly though, my balance sheet shows I don't need to obtain personal credit very often.

You have a balance sheet? I studied those things in Accounting 101, many years ago. Cool.

Cash is for people who want to limit their life. You get wealthy by properly managing your money. That includes knowing how to properly use credit. Even the wealthiest of the wealthy use credit.

It is poor people who use credit improperly.

Not really concerned w/ the number after a certain point. Buy a house, car and carry a few CC w/ nice limits and check back in 6 months. We will then have an accurate idea of your real score.

Better yet, go get a pre-approval for a home loan and tell us how much it's for. That will give everyone a more accurate idea of your worth.

Own a 500K home (granted the loan is only 100k, paid a boatload of cash down), bought a new 2002 Accord SE (thanks RossMan :)) and have several CCs with total line of credit at about 24000. Also have a HELOC of 280,000. All of these are the reason for the score.

Then your self-confidence score must be negative to have to come brag like this.

Wow, I never thought I would read a post on an online message board by an individual bragging about his credit score. Especially when said invidiual claims to be in his 30s.

Your score means nothing, really. Creditors/lenders/banks look at many things when considering whether or not you're a good credit risk.

Any 25 year old earning $80K+ b/c of his/her Master's degree might score high, but that doesn't mean they're a good credit risk. Income + payment history +/- missed payments is the best way to determine credit worthiness.

I'm not impressed, Paduwan.

haha credit score means nothing... thats a good one.

Yours must suck.

Payment history and missed payments is factored into the FICO score.

BTW, Im 34 with a 35 year credit history.

So you got a credit card after dad shot you out and before you swam up moms river of love.

Probably three months before that when he was a twinkle in his father's eye... :p

My dad used to work in the Banking industry...but as far as I know you can put anyone on your authorized users lists for a CC and they inherit all of the history of that card. All I know Is I used to have a card that said member since 1971 and I was born in 1972.

Actually, the opposite is true. The most commonly used way to build wealth is to borrow capital and then put it to work for a profit.

Authorized users have to be 18 and over

Was that true in 1972? They must have had a different rule back then.
