Who's got nerdier plans for tonight than me?

I'm identifying constellations and stars with a pair of binoculars, while drinking redbull and listening to melodic Nordic metal.

All by myself.

What about all of you?

I'm doing VLSI design.

(not my design at all)

Programming a PIC chip to go along with a simple circuit I designed, intended to control an array of 1500W heater elements, while listening to Enya.

I don't know where that rates.

Edit: Ok, it looks like it's below Leros' plans.😱
That looks like fun stuff.

I would trade you in a heartbeat. Programming a microcontroller sounds like a lot more fun that what I'm doing.

And no, its not fun stuff at all.

I guess it would be interesting for a little while, then get tedious. Maybe. Or not.
I've never seen or done anything at all close to VLSI stuff.

Where I work, we still use through-hole components in nearly everything, put it that way.😀 I would love to use surface mount, if only so that I'd get to play with some pick'n'place robots.
I think the highest-tech stuff we use is 32-bit PIC chips. My PIC of the day is an 18F2520.

You can do surface mount with a pair of tweezers and a toaster oven. No need for fancy machinery.

I'm banging your mom.

BRB

olds is taping, and I'm part of a large and dedicated team doing post-production, because we all want this to be a really classy project, especially your Mom.

Btw, she says, "Hi!" :sneaky:

The fancy machinery is fun though. 🙂

They bought a SCARA robot recently at a liquidation auction, though they weren't sure what to do with it. The owner just thinks robots are cool, and it was dirt-cheap. It's fun to play with, and insanely powerful for something so small. But, well, I just don't know what to put it to work doing. It could probably function as an SMD pick'n'place robot, but since its software wasn't meant for that, I don't know how easily it could be flexed to take on such a role.

Working on my website design. Well, actually gave that up a while ago. Listening to my 60s albums now... on vinyl!

I'm raiding with my e-friends in WoW tonight.

Nothing can surpass that. I win in this thread but lose at life, but at least I won something.

Should be doing E&M, controls and "modern physics" hw... but am not..oh and probalby also be some accountingish kind of stuff.

So how is how far on the nerd scale does posting on atot and watching tv on a Saturday night while in college count for.
