it is still snowing here. So far it looks like at least 4 inches of snow. It's supposed to snow more Saturday giving us another 3 inches of snow.

I hate snow.

Oh noes everybody gonna die!

That does look like a pretty massive system though. i kinda want a big storm here since it's been so long, it does create a bit of excitement. :p But at same time if I don't have to dig myself out to go to work, that's a bonus.

Hammered by or hammered for? The best part of winter storms is running out to the grocery and liquor stores just as the first flakes are falling ("No, you old bag, that's MY loaf of bread!") and then bunkering down the next few days with libations and food, binge watching some Netflix or Amazon TV series that you hadn't heard of a day ago.

We got about 8 inches, plus 1-2 inches today, plus 2-5 inches tonight. I dug out my car from street parking yesterday, but I dare not move it as someone will most certainly take my spot, the only one on the street that has been properly shoveled.

If I end up having to drive somewhere I might put my folding patio table in my space after I leave so that it is free when I return.

You will return to find your folding patio table gone and someone parked in the spot.

You'd get a ticket for doing that in Boston. You should just shovel all the snow back into the spot when you leave, and shovel it out when you come back. It's a little extra work, but it almost certainly guarantees no one will take it.

How do they know who to ticket?

Why not clear the driveway and park there? Here they will ticket you if you are parked on the street and they need to do snow removal. I work night shift so sometimes don't feel like clearing the driveway when I get home after a 12h shift so I'll park on the street, but last time I had a cop at my door asking me to move the car. She did me a favour because she could have just got it towed.

Unfortunately I have no driveway nor any off-street parking. That would cost about $100-$200/month around here. Street is free, you just have to be ok dealing with the snow plow going all over your car. I honestly don't really even need a car. I drive it 1-2 times per week to the grocery store and that's it. I could get along fine taking public transit or ride share, but there is something very luxurious feeling about driving your own car around and not having to have a stranger drive you around.

Nah fvck snow m8, little girls walk home half naked in that sh*t drunk as hell after house parties and are found dead the next morning by snow plowmen sipping hot coco.
