Umm, the entertainment is there for entertainment. I don't recall saying that you should care about their opinions.

Its just that there appears to be a lack of entertainment.

There's been a lot of chatter about how there's no big name acts / entertainment, as an attempt to slam Trump. "ha ha, no big acts want to perform for Trump, lol lol lol". I don't view that as a problem at all, I don't really care how "big" the acts are or which celeb wants to participate. It doesn't mean anything. Only vapid idiots would care about which acts perform at the inauguration.

And surely if he ignores the celebs opinions for being pie in the sky entitled rich kids he has the same opinion of the new prez, no?

The difference is, at this point we have to care about (which doesn't mean "agree with") Trump's opinions because he's the president of the US. I don't have to care at all about the political opinions of celebs, in general I view them as vain and vapid idiots.

So why do they have acts at the inauguration then?

It sounds like you're holding the POTUS to a lower mark than vapid entertainers.

Like everything else its all blown up for a stupid ass show...just get to the point and gtfo.
The point of it is to have an introduction of the new president, state what his intentions are and/or how he will lead the country. Done. Who really gives a fuck about the shows...IMO that it takes away from the actual purpose of the event.

gonna blame it on the weather (or just pretend that everyone in the country was there)

Perhaps he will count tomorrow's protesters.

I was just at ORD and watched a couple DCA bound flights board. President Tiny Hands isn't going to enjoy this.

I live in a small municipality ~17,000 people. Want to know how many buses they're sending to Washington tomorrow?

Fucking THIRTY buses. Now I live in a deep blue state with money, not all that far from DC, so I'm not going to pretend that it's broadly representative... but holy shit.

I was imaging how awful it would be flying into DCA today. The air patterns for DCA are already terrible and stomach churning, so I wonder what kind of aero-gymnastics commercial flights would be subjected to during an inauguration.

So far I'm reading:

1. It WAS hugely, bigly the most greatest turnout ever in history; the Media is just lying.

2. Everyone was at work.

3. It doesn't matter, the inauguration is simply a formality to get over with.

More to come, I'm sure.

I always take a window seat on the flight for that reason. It's like a free ride at Disney on a work trip.

They must've told people to stand further back to cover those white square areas because it looks like they could've fit everyone in the first two or three squares

The next time you guys survive a near-fatal landing at DCA, we should meet up over beers!
