Who's Going Bowlin'?

As a die hard Utah fan (yeah, I'm sure to hear that we're gonna get creamed by 'Bama - I think people will be surprised, not necessarily a win, but not a Hawaii type of showing either) I'll be traveling to the Sugar Bowl in New Orleans from Salt Lake City on New Years Eve (anybody want to go drinking with me? I'm going stag as the wife hates football so I have to get drunk by myself on News Years Eve)

Anybody else going to a bowl game this year?

I was really hoping it would've been Texas vs. Utah in the Fiesta as it's a drivable distance from Salt Lake and I have family in Phoenix, but no such luck. Fiesta basically said the week before selection they didn't want Utah *SIGH* Mid majors never get any respect.

My bowl history:

04 Fiesta - Utah vs. Pitt
07 Poinsettia - Utah vs. Navy
08 Sugar - Utah vs. Alabama

my team isn't going this year but I am going to the Chick-fil-a bowl (still the Peach to me) and cheer on GT.

I am going to the Florida Atlantic's vs. CMU Chippewas game at the Motor City Bowl. CMU is my local college here in Mt. Pleasant, MI.
Go Chips!!!!

Legion Field is a bit old, but there are plenty of things to do in B'Ham.

A bit old is an understatement. It's in serious need of refurbishing/demolishing, it's in a bad part of town, and it looks like crap now. I was ecstatic when Alabama stopped playing at Alabama.

The GMAC Bowl would be more fun. Sure, the teams aren't that great but Mobile is like New Orleans light and it doesn't take long to get to any of the gambling establishments in Mississippi or even to New Orleans for that matter.
