and another snow storm is moving through again. We are looking at 10 - 20 cm today.

Seems like we are getting more snow than red squirrel is.

:D

The news has been covering the "Siberian Express Invasion," a large cold front moving into North America that they say originated in Siberia. Temp records gonna be broken followed bu lots of snow. (Glad I'm on the left coast)

Started snowing earlier in the morning and will go until about 8 to 9pm tonight. Should have about 3 to 4" total. Then it's suppose to snow again on Wednesday. It'll pop back up to the low to mid 30s later in the week. Hopefully the snow is gone by the weekend as I still have more leaves to do.

Coastal/Southern NE supposed to stay 99% rain but could get a few flakes to an icy coating when the temps drop.

not much different than those Polar Vortexes we were getting a few years back. We also get those Alberta Clippers that roll East from Alberta.

Due to get some tomorrow, but not enough where I need to shovel. Just how I like it!

MUCH different...this is RUSSIAN cold and snow. Probably comparable to that "super- slippery Southern ice."

3-6 inches today in Chicago.
I'm a little further south than you(Peoria area)and we are slated to get 1-3. It started early this morning around 5:30 and has been off and on since then.:(
The wind gusts are the sucky part though. Sustained at 14mph out of the north with gusts up to 33.

Boy, the news really loves apocalyptic phrasing for what, 20 years ago, would have been termed a "cold snap". Today in the northeast was beautiful and mild, tomorrow will start warm, but get a lot colder as the front moves through. Temps might fall 30+ degrees in a few hours and could break the record for the date by a degree or two. Rain early in the day will transition over to snow resulting in some slick roads as it ices. Total accumulation is expected to be a dusting to 0.5" and the temps start bouncing back up 24 hours later. But man, the news reports are damn close to warning us that we might need to resort to cannibalism to survive.

Fair amount of snow today - enough that some school busses were an hour or more behind getting kids home.

Hope you got/get home without too much delay. Lots of cancelations around the Midwest from what I hear

Yep. The arctic blast of 15F is going to break all the records. Meanwhile, nobody bats an eye when it's -5F and -15F with the windchill in January.

Like how you see people all bundled up in sweaters and hats in December even if it happens to be 50+.

Had to laugh at a news segment talking about the snow down south. Something to the effect "And if you go north, such as Barrie..." They seriously think Barrie is "the north". That's adorable.

It is funny how we managed to dodge most of this stuff here though. We only really have a sprinkle on the ground right now, maybe a couple cm that's been accumulating over the week or so a bit at a time.

It is still snowing here. The storm is supposed to stop sometime tonight.

Tuesday is then going to bring snowsqualls off Lake Huron.

I am getting tired of winter and it hasn't even started yet.
