Who's getting a Lexus or Mercedes this Xmas?

These commercials are on every year in December. Lexus and Mercedes cars with big bows on the top, trying to persuade people to get one as a gift for someone. Who buys someone else a Lexus/Mercedes for Christmas? Is it really so common to bring back these same commercials every year? It wouldn't be the craziest thing i've heard of, but no one i've known has ever got a new Lexus/Mercedes for Christmas. I'm sure it happens with people who are completely loaded.

As long as you keep your name on the title so the woman doesn't pawn it, I don't see the problem.

I asked a Lexus dealer about that one time....apparently it does happen all the time, and they have a whole closet full of those huge bows for the top of the car!

If my wife got me a car, that I didn't get to pick out the options, color, and test drive, I'd be mad! That's a major decision, not a surprise gift.

my mom got a RX330 for christmas last year. granted it was just convenient timing, it's been her dream car for awhile and she was tired of her aging minivan. You get unbelievable deals this time of year

I doubt even if i made 400k i would be giving away luxury cars. these are some of the stupidest commercials in american television history.

i make 110k and i dont even buy myself a nice luxury car, let alone buy one for someone else

so yeah these commercials are targetting probably 0.000001% of the general population

maybe i should find a sugarmommy like KFed/Fed-Ex did and ask her to get me a nice little Lambo Diablo

I got a used (2003) Lexus LS 430 sort of as a gift last month (and, no, I will not explain what a "sort of" gift is - I was purposely vague).

No bow, though. That would have been funny.

eh, she test drove quite a wide market of cars. Personally I would have picked up something else, but she's raised 4 kids through college, she deserved the ability to make a purchase without me arguing about best value

My wife got me a new Lexus for Christmas, well I actually paid for half and went in to pick it up. That way I got exactly what I wanted.

We already have the car, its sitting in the garage and I promised not to drive it or look at it until Christmas morning.

This is going to be sooooooo cool.
