I have Sirius and couldn't care less that he's gonna be on there.

He's a has been IMO.

a "has been" that SIRI paid $500million in cash and $200million in stock to. GAWD! i dont see how its worth that much.

b/c according to the ratings and the general public he is not a "has been". He still brings in a lot of listeners and SIRI knows this. And from what I've read the CEO of SIRI, Mel Karmazin, is no dummy either.

edit: Sirius Chief Executive Mel Karmazin has said on several occasions that if just 1 million of the 12 million estimated Stern listeners become subscribers, Stern's $100 million contract will pay for itself.

edit: The company said it ended 2005 with 3.32 million subscribers, with a gain of 1.14 million net subscribers in the fourth quarter in the run-up to Stern's debut. It had previously forecast that it would have more than 3 million subscribers.

I'm sure that his first few shows will be totally crazy.. and then Sirius will make him censor it. Then we'll be back to the lame Howard Stern retoric that we're all had to put up with for the past few years, with him always whining about "the man" putting him down and censoring him.

But, man, those first few shows are going to fun to listen to! 🙂

I blame Stern for making me listen to Z100 Z-Morning Zoo now.

Nah... That's just pure boredom or stupidity causing that. How ANYONE listen to that tripe and stay sane is beyond me!

Oh, and I still think that Howard will do something so profoundly stupid on air that Sirius will have to tell Stern to cut it out. He's gotta test the limits just to find out where they are... if that takes something like porn star midgets screwing a goat, he'll probably do it.

Nope. The only delay button on his broadcasts is on his board, in case a guest says something libelous. No censorship whatsoever.

I got Sirius for Stern and came to like Jim Breuer, Jay Thomas and the Uncensore Raw dog Comedy among other music channels. To bad Siri stock is taking a dump.

not i. why would i support a huge hypocrite?

You're assuming the director of the play is telling the truth. Every review of that play was dreadful, and I imagine he's just trying to fan the flame of publicity. Howard denies encouraging Emily to quit, and indeed it seems inconsistent with his longtime parenting philosophy to do so. I guess I don't see how it would be hypocritical even if he had.

not just quoting that source, but from other reputable sources ive heard that he had even planned to buy out seats in the theatre and have his fans and cohorts purposely interrupt the show when her scene came up. but what i was aiming for in his hypocrisy is that he can ask or have other peoples daughters take their clothes off, but when his own does the same he reportedly threw a fit about it. now after she quits the show and it gets put on hiatus, he publicly states he was all for it? but then again, the director has motive also since it wsnt such a great play. but its all assumptions until somebody budges. oh well, no use in trying to make sense over spilt milk.

She quit the play because she felt exploited by the director and because she found out Dopie & Aintfunny's lame army were planning to disrupt the play.

Howard knew and had no problem with her being in the play or having a nude scene.

thanks. damn, now im getting conflicting stories. oh well, still wont listen to stern because ive already invested in xm. 🙂

and for the record, i tried listening to o&a. and to be honest i would rather have gregorian monk chants with a banjo and slide whistle playing in the background replace that channel.

edit: the more i think about, that might actually sound pretty cool.

I'm not a big enough fan to pay $10/month for the subscription just to hear him.

You do know your getting alot more than just Stern, right?

Yup. I just don't want to add another monthly fee to my already cumbersome list: cellphone, digital cable, high speed Internet, etc...

Since Stern left the air I've actually gone back to listening to ... <gasp>... MUSIC in the morning  Haven't done that in 10 years 😀

someone is definetly having sex on the air and i'm sure someone will record it for everyone who doesn't have sirius 😛
