Out of 6 (I think) 4 have been perfect right at the start (including the 1st 2 I ever built, Both AMD:D), 1 I reversed the floppy cable and 1 I messed up the LED hookup for the front (that was the HP that I put a regular motherboard in and had to remake the LED/Power connector for).

So far so good:D

I didn't try to surface mount chips or anything, but plugging it in and working is pretty sop for me.

Yup, upgraded mobo/proc/graphics card in my system and even got all led headers correct. Its way too easy now.

I've built 4 systems, 2 for myself and 2 for friends. They always start up the first time. I just have to remember to turn the switch on the back of the power supply.

Usually perfect for me on the first time, only hard thing is playing around with the leds.

I wired something wrong one time when I built a PC.

I hit the power button and there was a bright flash and then a portal to the demonic realm opened up inside the case for a few moments. Then the portal closed and the computer booted into Windows ME.

The first computer I built booted up and ran fine.

The only times I run into problems is when either the hardware came DOA or I'm modding stuff.

Yes, 1 of those is always done wrong by me too. In fact right now my system has no Power/HDD light because I've been too lazy the last 3 months to fix it! :D

My first 2 or 3 systems were a PITA. Mainly because I wasn't aware of 1 or 2 things to do each time, but for near 10 years now I've had no problems(other than Windows issues).

the led headers are always fvcked up and different from case to case... so fresh build.. something doesn't work
this new system of mine.. everything worked, besides the hdd activity, had it backwards :(

i say the first comment because the label will face one way in one case (with the wires in one scheme) while another case the label is on the opposite side compared to the previous case. and when u get case manuals that are bad at labeling, and a mobo manual thats equally backwards... makes for tough times lol
sadly i cant blame colorblindness, the colors are pure shades so i can see them ;)

99% of the time. Usually the led header & memory chip/video card not fully inserted.

Usually. Sometimes I get the LEDs mixed up, and the video card sometimes needs to be re-inserted.

Ok then lol... I thought about it and ive come up with the following reasons/excuses as to why mine never work!

1. I buy parts from ebay
2. I skimp on these parts somtimes
3. Ive only ever built 2.5 systems
4. These systems are server class and can be picky

I'd say I have about a 98% first time button push success rate. Unless you count the times when I didn't check if the PSU was switched off on the back.
