Well, I'm a Christian, but I don't believe more than 5% of Christians are actual real Christians. The other 95% see Christianity and Church as a social club they belong to and/or are just afraid of going to hell.

A teacher asked us once if there was no heaven or hell would we still be Christians. I thought about that real hard for the next 10 years.

Heaven and Hell are what make people christian. When you believe that you will be tortured for eternity if you don't comply it is a strong motivator.

Not true. Many people, I think, aren't sure whether there is a heaven or hell, but they hedge their bets by going to church anyway. But there are many of us who are Christians for reasons beyond that.

For what reason. You are being threatened into worshiping some being. The bible says bow down to god or go to hell.

It's funny how so many people are always anti-Christian, but have no idea what the religion is about...

so true

catholics are iffy about being truly chirstian in my book.

To be truly Christian you have to believe Christ died for you sins and by believing this you can be saved.(John 3:16) You are saved by God's grace not by works.

Reason I don't think catholics subscribe to this:

that x amount of Our Fathers is penance for your sin
7 sacraments
baptism = salvation
say the pope is infalliable

All this being said I am a Christian

I agree with you but I'd rather not get into it here.

Not sure if this has been mentioned (too many posts to read), but Orthodox should be added with Christian

Roman Catholic. Just thought I'd sign in. I now plan on running from this thread like it's on fire.
