Who's a baseball fan here? What's yer team(s)?

The Yankees have been my team for 18 years. You know that you are a good fan if you can stick with the Yankees through the 1980's and the early 1990's!

Believe it or not, I like my home town team... the San Diego Padres.
You might know them from such baseball seasons as "It's a Rebuilding Year" and "Let's win the Pennant, then dismantle the Team!"

<sigh>

Well, at least the NL West is interesting.

Mariner's fan here. And no, I'm not some bandwagon jumper. Lived in Seattle for the first 24+ years of my life, so don't talk to me about suffering. 🙂 But, if you think about it, baseball, if well managed, >should< be cyclical, so every 30+ years or so, every major league team should have an awesome system, if the management is good. 😉

Giants!!! 🙂

There is not one team that can choke in the post season like the Giants can!!!! 😀

Just wanted to point out that John Sterling and Michael Cay (the two guys who do the Yankee radio broadcasts) are easily the two worst play by play and color commentators in baseball. Especially Sterling, who sprays his shorts every time Scott Brosius gets a hit.

Red Sox too. 😉 All thses Mariners fans complaining about suffering. I don't think there is a fan base that has suffered more than the Red Sox fans... 🙂

Shouldn't that be a clue?

Mets :frown:

Hope Bobby V. goes soon. Four years with this team and they still have no clue how to hit with runners in scoring position with less than two outs. They are simply atrocious in that department. They should look up what a sacrifice fly is.

I guess it should be, but that would take all the fun out of it. We don't really suffer until the end of the season. 🙂 That do so well at the beginning and then usually blow it in August or September.

I am a VERY happy Phillies Fan. Me and my high school buddies who are all Phillies fans were all making doom and gloom predictions for this season. Larry Bowa looks like a freaking genius right now.

Go Phightins'!

I've been a Mets fan since the mid 80's since that's what I started watching baseball and the Mets were the talk in NY. But lately, I've been cheering for players rather than teams since I'm in a few rotisserie baseball leagues.

Shmorq

I find myself doing that a lot lately. This is the first time I have ever played Fantasy sports. It's almost like a conflict of interest. On one of my teams I have both Pedro and Mussina. 🙂

Freeze, at least it was a low scoring game. The worst is when you expect to get at least 1 win, but both pitchers end up being booted before the 5th inning and end up giving up a combined 15 earned runs!

Also, with the way players move around, it's tough to become loyal to one team.

I'm definitely a Braves fan (I've lived in ATL for 15 years), but I'm always one to root for the underdog, so add the Cubs to my list.

I must say as well: I am really impressed that Lou Piniella fields a competitive team year after year despite losing good players to crappy teams with deep pockets. I don't get to see too many Mariners games here in the deep south tho.😉

Fausto

a half decent Pirate fan... they SUCK so bad its rediculous.. but the new stadium is sweet..my legion team is better.. 😉 at least we are in some aspects!
