It was due on the sixth which is when I paid it but it didn't post until the 7th. So I was hit with a $29 late fee. Which seems a bit steep to me. What are the chances of calling them and getting that knocked off of my bill?

If it is a first time or doesn't happen very often they will eat the fee. Can't hurt to call anyway.

Pay your bill sooner than the day it's due FTW?
Anyway, call them up and see if they'll reverse it this time.

i had one that would mail it out on the 25th so i would get it on or around the 30th.
it was due on the 3rd. There was NO way to pay it on time. you could pay by phone for $39 or moneygram it in.
this would happen about every 3 months. finally after the 3rd time i cancelled the card.

if it's AMEX they will usually reverse the finance charge and late fees if you ask them nicely. I was a day or so late couple times over the years. They have been good so far. Couple months ago, I was late by a whole week. Dont know what happened. I have set email and txt reminders for myself, but it just slipped my mind. Dont know how much this will affect my credit rating.

I did pay it online. It was just one of those things, ya know? My calendar said it was due on the sixth, so when I sat down to pay it on the sixth, it didn't really hit me that it wouldn't post until the 7th.
Frankly, I think that's a bit silly but c'est la vie. The oneness is on my to pay it on time. Lesson learned huh? Let's see what the CC company has to say.
