Whoops they did it again, Interplay on the edge of folding

Who owns the Freespace franchise? Is it interplay? If so, maybe this is an opportunity for someone to snatch it up.

-No one single entity really owns the freespace franchise, unfortunately. If I remember correctly, when Interplay first went bankrupt they took some of their "fringe" properties, broke them up and sold them piecemeal to all sorts of different folks.

Its really frustrating because what purpose does owning some small fraction of the rights to a property serve ANYONE? The owners have this fetid piece of property they will never make money on and the fans get no sequel. ITS MADNESS!

Oh yeah, and Volition, while still a good developer, is now staffed by people who had nothing to do with the freespace games of old.
