if i made 200,000 it would be .000025
i wish i made 200k a month.

5 is 1% of 500

5 is 0.1% of 5,000

5 is 0.01% of 50,000

5 is 0.001% of 500,000

5 is 0.0025% of 200,000

looking at it pessamistically anything less then 3% doesnt even account for inflation so you are taking a paycut in reality in terms of your salarys buying power.

The way you originally phrased it, you were claiming to make 200,000 / month. That's what i came up with as well.

2.5% raise for me this year, not a lot, but as long as I can afford a roof over my head and paid all my bills, I'm ok.

In a few weeks, I'll be battling for a 15% raise. Then, 30 days after that, I'll be battling for another 15% raise. All I have to do is keep nearly perfect stats and attendance. The attendance will be the easy part, obviously. But still.

😀

You're welcome.
<---Taxpayer 😛

BTW: Your comparison is not accurate because you got a PROMOTION. I assume your new position has a higher salary range. In my line of work, the best way to get a raise is to go work for a different company because there is a shortage of qualified workers. (Although it seems like the headhunters are calling less and less frequently . . . 😕 )

now THAT is correct... but you tacked a % sign on the end, .0025% , percent means divide by 100

Would you like fries with that?

Hey, that's just short of the 2% annual raise I received at the 'height' of the 'economic boom' (1995 ~ 1998) working in the surgery department of a non-profit medical center smack in the ghetto.

For you to get almost that when the economy is squarely in the sh-tter is actually pretty damned good. Some people really have no clue how good they have it.
