whoo hoo... more tension between China and the US

yes, the same military that slammed into the japanese fishing boat😛 They can do no wrong right?

I'm critical? You didn't answer my questions or provide anything against my arguements at all. Flapping lips....This is a forum where we have discussions. If you think i'm posting nonsense, then explain why. I guess your too lazy to even try. I expected more from you red dawn.

Think of it this way...if a chinese spy plane crash landed in california, killing an airforce pilot, while the two dozen chinese servicemen lived...how do you think the majority of Americans would feel? Yep, the same way that the chinese do. Do you think America would easily hand over those 24 hostages? Bah...you'd better believe we'd find some way to circumvent "international law." It's not like we haven't done it before.

Bah...you'd better believe we'd find some way to circumvent "international law." It's not like we haven't done it before.>>

Well, I think the US would probably take some time before handing over the 24 "hostages" but I don't think the US citizens would become enraged and say things like, "first we kill one, then two and then 24..." and call out for war against China.

For me personally, I don't "morally" mind the Chinese looking at our plane. We would do the same in the past if a Russian spy plane crashed here. We would have been interested in knowing what type of technology and information the Russians have and take our time giving it back. It's "bad" in the sense that our national security is probably compromised now but hopefully we'll be able to bounce back.

What bothers me more is the anger and hatred from the Chinese people towards the US -- this has surprised me because I thought the Chinese people liked Americans. I read somewhere that China is trying to instill "Nationalism" in their people because Communism is dying but Nationalism can be a dangerous policy -- it makes people too war hungry.

As long as our men and women come back home safe and sound I'll be happy. I hope that relations between our two countries will improve in the near future but I'm kind of worried about how President Bush is handling foreign policy with China. I think his father understood the Chinese better.

Lets face it. Most countries hate the US. Why? We hate everyone or are jealous of everyone with superpower or powerful capabilities. China just wants to get the "goods" on American technology. I'm sure the military heros on the jet did their job and destroyed the sensitive information. I have full faith in the American military even when facing China. China is just screwing around with the US. Powell was denied access or even a phone call from the crew commander, which only proves China is breaking international law and past agreements. I have heard that China has increased its "National Air Space" when there is a specific amount of air space given to each country. The air space China uses isn't even recognized by other countries. I'm not saying that the US follows every law or rule, however, there comes a time when everyone, the US and China included, must accept and give respect to other countries and their citizens. China just screwed with the US and Bush...and what goes around comes around. :|

NO ONE IS GOING TO KILL ANYONE. Killing the 24 crew one by one is ridiculous. I wonder how someone can be so idiotic to believe so. We live in the media age and China cannot kill 24 crew member and think the U.S. will not know. To believe they are going to execute the 24 crew is plain STUPID. Most people believe CHINA is going to start a war with america because they are BARBARIC or they are COMMUNIST. IF YOU DO YOU STILL LIVE IN THE 60's or 70's. Learn History and find out what 'communist' means. Wars arent popular no more. IT cost money and people and doesnt help the economy going. They would rather use the opportunity to open up the market here than start a war.

Let this be a test for BUSH. A president should be able to deal with hostile situations n handle it with robustness. THe next 4 years.......see if i vote for him for once or again.

I've said it once and I'll say it again-

Zucchini, you're a f_cking asshole.

What the F do you know about the courage and competency of our military.

Mistakes happen asshole!

I'm sure those men and women aboard that plane were doing everything they could to destroy the sensitive information while you would have been pissing in your pants.

You're a real big man on a keyboard. What have you done in real life?

I wish I knew who you were and where you worked so that I could pass on some of your statements to ensure you never receive any kind of security clearance.

<< hehe, but it IS funny as hell. The pilot and crew knowing they have a plane loaded with supposedly top secret high tech equip decide to land the plane in enemy territory. It was their duty to bail out of the plane and blow it up😛 If the planes don't have explosives, a crash landinginto the ocean would do just as well😛 Awesome military personel we have.. >>

Reading this a second time I realize you are one hell of a stupid-ass.

There were 24 people on board. Let's assume half of those people were stupid... there were still 12 people to handle the systemized destruction of all sensitive equipment.

The fact that they were unable to do so, and mind you this is one of the most sensitive aircraft in the US Arsenal - which means these service people are highly trained, should tell you they didn't have enough time to go through proper procedure.

Considering the level of intelligence you've presented here... I don't know why you are still talking.

Have some respect for those that have been captured... i'm sure if it were you you'd be taking a dump down the left leg your flight suit.

"Mocking the American claim that the plane is protected by international law from outside inspection without US permission, Mr Zhu smiled and said: "If this plane is sovereign American territory, how did it land in China?"
http://news.bbc.co.uk/hi/english/world/asia-pacific/newsid_1258000/1258239.stm

Arrogant chinese government bastard. It's the same way the US Embasy in China is sovereign property.

He seems to think he's very clever. The stupid moron.

"Beijing has accused the Navy surveillance EP-3 of ramming its aircraft, but the US says it was probably an accident caused by the Chinese plane."

The hell is this all about... it's like saying a bus traveling at 25mph chasing and hitting a motorcycle going at 50 mph. The American plane rammed the Chinese plane his ass...

<< Most people believe CHINA is going to start a war with america because they are BARBARIC or they are COMMUNIST >>

Wars are expensive, but they are also good for economies... not that China is stupid enough to get into a conflict with the US... especially when the brunt of the war will be decided on water.

As for China being barbaric... look at their human rights record... that should speak volumes for their barbarism.

<< Never happen. If there's any chance that China won't give the plane back, a SEAL team will go in and destroy it. >>

Let's be real here... Seal teams aren't like what you see in Chuck Noris and Charlie Sheen movies... there's no way in hell they'll be able to get anywhere near the plane... considering how much China is salivating of the plane.

For example, when we accidently bombed the Chinese embassy, I was surprised that many Chinese people thought we did it deliberately. They could/would not believe the US is capable of making such mistakes.

The main reason Chinese are furious over that and blame the US bombing it on purpose is because the part of the embasssy that was destroy just happened to house China's spy operations in the Europe. *wink*

xyyz: Please dont tell me wars are always good for the economy. Look at the gulf war, bush senior thought that it would bring the US out of its downturn. Economists say that it really didnt and was detrimental to the US economy, it was the tech uprising actually did the job. China is not as stupid as some people might think. War with guns is the last thing they want. On the other hand, economic superiority is the thing they want. I feel so sad that the US government has to resort to label China as the bad guy so they have something to work against. Ever since USSR went down the drain, the Cold-War extremist have been dying for something new to come up. Unfortuantely, terrorists are too small of a target to accquire. Dont even talk about the arrogance of CHinese politicians. When the US bombed the Chinese embassy, they tried to cover it up and then blame it on a map error. Oh whats really funny is that the American press first released it and then the next day they showed the "angry mob of Chinese" pelting the US embassy in China and shouting down with the US. It seemed funny that the press seemed to forget the bombing that happened and tries to label the Chinese as fanatics that want the US government dead.

Red Dawn: Im sure if the US government were trailing the spy trawlers and doing nothing about it, it means that the spy trawlers are doing much spying to cause a search. However, if the trawlers had the ability to camp outside a naval base and able to dechiper codes and other secret material, the US would be on their asses so fast. And about the Tibet scenario. I really dont think China was to expand out into countries like vietnam or india. They just want the land that they rightfully own back to them. Taiwan used to be part of China, the only reason why its not because the kuomintang annexed it. And how? Because of US intervention. Why? Because it would allow them a stragetic base next to China. About your motocycle metaphor: What happens if the cycle was traveling near the side of the bus and the bus happened to swerve suddenly. Im sure the rider of the cycle would have plenty of time to respond... oh i say a couple of milliseconds? You have to take logic into hand and think about the Chinese pilot. Can you actually think a rider of a cycle would try to ram a bus. I think not.

I wont dispute the Chinese pilot probably had some fault in this episode, but so did the US government. The Chinese have every right for detaining the people on the plane. The US would do it to. Please dont tell me that the US is all morally correct and faultless. It isnt. The problem is that the rest of the world has seen US's faults and remembers, but its own citizens forget so easily.

bunch of hyper sensitive posters. and if you really read my post again xyyz u would have noticed it was originally posted after xiaga's comments.. which consisted of lol!.. ROTFLMAO!! I was continueing on that tone. Get off your high horses, i was pointing out inconsistencies that in my view did not make any sense. Did they prepare for every contingency? Don't know, and apparently you don't either. Your 1st response made sense, your 2nd reading must have been while smoking crack.

joebad,

Zucchini, you're a f_cking asshole.

What the F do you know about the courage and competency of our military.

So wtf do you know. I questioned the military, i didn't realize they were unquestionable gods. The fact that you admit they make mistakes supports this. You bring no coherent arguements to the table, so you sir are the F_cking asshole.

<< Wars arent popular no more. IT cost money and people and doesnt help the economy going. >>

they though that in 1910 too. not to mention that WW2 brought us out of the great depression, and vietnam contributed to the US expansion in the 60s

<< if the trawlers had the ability to camp outside a naval base and able to dechiper codes and other secret material >>

what the h3ll do you think the trawlers do, fish for seabass? they intercept radio signals from naval bases, record them, then take em back to china to be decoded! do we go in there and try to sink them? no!

<< What happens if the cycle was traveling near the side of the bus and the bus happened to swerve suddenly >>

then the cycle was probably too close to the friggin' bus just like the chinese fighter was to our ep3! were they trying to force the p3 down? probably not. did the pilot get real close? obviously too close. most likely he got caught in turbulence. would the p3 try to ram a fighter? thats just stupid.

and china's state press said it was 7 miles, while china's foreign ministry says 60 miles. after "plane suddenly veered"

In the afternoon of September 6, 1976, with only 30 seconds of fuel remaining, a MiG-25, one of Soviet Russia's most prized and secret weapons, broke through the clouds above Hakodate, Japan, narrowly avoided a departing Japanese airliner, and dove down to the city's commercial airport where, in front of hundreds of amazed Japanese motorists, it landed screeching, skidding, blowing a tire, plowing 800 feet off the runway, and finally stopping a few feet from a large antenna. Viktor Belenko had arrived in the West. The plane was disassembled and studied by the western specialists before being finally given back to the USSR.

Seems we've done the same in the past... what high ground we stand on eh?

You aren't too intelligent if you think the US miltary doesn't have a contingency for such a sittuation. This is not a sittuation of "every contingency." It's a pretty straighforward sittuation. A sensitive US plane is captured... what do you do to prevent the enemy from learning the secrets of that plane. It's not a matter of "not knowing." This sittuation is probably one of the ultimate "worst case scenarios."

I'm quite sure, as time will tell, the US personel destroyed the most vital components of that plane before they were forced out of the plane.

smoking crack eh? odd that I need to "smoke crack" to drop a few to the level that can be called your best.

Concerning China's territorial claims to the China Sea: Yes, no one else supports the claim, but the US also lays claim on water territories that everyone supports as Canadian. Most of the time it is not a problem, but every once in awhile(usually when Salmon fishing quotas are being negotiated)the US illegally boards and seizes Canadian fishing boats. It will never lead to war between Canada and the US, my point is that China is not alone in such a situation.

Americans will be outraged, Chinese will be outraged. No one should be surprised or expect anything else in this situation.
