6.1 gallons = 37mpg.

Usually my Integra with over 140,000 miles gets about 26 in a combo of city/freeway with A/C on during the day..but I started out early in the morning with no need for an AC and kept it at a constant 65 (since my parents were in the car and who hate to see me go a mile over the speed limit)..stopped at a gas station after a few hours, and filled it up with just over 6 gallons.

I find that hard to believe. I think you've miscalculated. I drive a 92 accord and have never seen over 30mpg even when I was a noob driver and did 65 all the time. Especially when you say you went from 26mpg to 37mpg...just doesn't happen.

I didn't know pizza companies made engines... ;)

Sorry, bad reference from a bad movie.. I'll hang my head in shame and go to sleep now.

The 26 mpg I usually get involves a good deal of city driving where I like to rev it up hard, have the A/C on, and basically joyride in it most of the time. When I ease up on the driving a bit, 30mpg is about normal..when I've done a lot of freeway driving (at around 80mph) mixed with a little street driving I've seen up to 33-34 mpg results..easing it up to 60-65mph with basically no city driving should expectedly yield even better results as I did today.

The first weekend I had my Impreza I drove to Niagara Falls (from Pittsburgh). I averaged around 32 mpg.

My normal mpg now is around 23-24 (1/2 freeway, 1/2 non, A/C on virtually all the time).

I'd say it's not all that implausible.

What year is it? Doesn't even look like the sticker mpg are that high, and they're usually inflated...

I've done that in my 93 camry. Drove from Davis, CA down to Orange County. Started at 7:30, and drove the whole way. Didn't need to get gas the whole 430 miles.

I filled up until the hose clicked off, and reset my trip counter. Got down there, filled until it clicked off again, and divided the miles I went to how many gallons it took to fill up again. Got a good 38.

Its amazon how fuel efficient it can be going a good 70 mph constantly.

EDIT: I usually get 28mpg mixed driving with ac, 30 in the cooler months without ac.

Yeah, quite amazon ;)

And it's a '94 Integra.

I get 25mpg on highway only with my 3.0L v6 and 5 speed averaging around 75mph, but my EGR system isn't working and I should be able to get close to 28mpg, especially if I slowed down to 65mph.

It's not terribly implausible. Certainly his car is capable of over 30, anyway. Hell, I can get 28 mpg at 80 mph with my AC off in a heavier more powerful maxima.

Not bad. I think the most my dad ever hit in the Accord was mid 30's. Just a couple weeks ago he hit 36 or 37 in the Camry.

Yeah, it helps. Closing the windows too - 4% reduction in drag (if all four were open).

how bout opening the moonroof?

hmm I should try this sometime..

but damn CA heat!! I have to use the AC

Between city and highway driving, I average over 30MPG in my $900, '90 Integra, running in top shape @ 140K

:)

Thing kicks ass for getting from point A to point B

In my Festiva, I could get from Bedford, Indiana to just south of the AL/TN border on 8 gallons. It worked out to like 53mpg.
