well I finally got my wireless network adapter set up so I can use the internet, but now whenever I attempt to get onto a web page (sometimes it will load a few) it completely freezes and I have to press the reset button to get any kind of response.

specs:
Abit Kt7a
tbird 1.2 @1.2
tonicom pc-166 RAM @ 133
adaptec 29160
seagate cheetah 10krpm
visiontek geforce 2 ultra
hercules gametheater xp
linksys wireles usb adapter

What I have tried: I have done a clean install of windows 98se, I have the latest Via 4 in 1's, I have the latest dets, latest motherboard bios flash, latest drivers for my 29160, firmware update for the adapter, and latest drivers. I am stumped, anyone have any ideas? I have it set to a manual ip address, and I installed a gateway (the router ip address) because my computer wasn't pulling it from the router.

Had a similar problem . . . froze when I scrolled on a web page . . . randomly. Changed video drivers and it solved the problem. Wireless technology is still in its infancy. If you have the parts, replace it with a wired setup and see if the problem goes away. Then you will know where the cause it.
