Whois Tracking?

I have a cable modem and I am suddenly getting hit with tons of port scans or something...What's the best way to find some information about the I.P. addresses that are being blocked by ZoneAlarm? I tried there whois feature that is built in but it appears useless. It only returns who owns the huge block that the I.P. address is a part of...I was hoping for a bit more.

Wow! Cool program. I'm not sure I entirely understand what it's showing me, but, nonetheless, it's pretty interesting.
