Whoever invented instant pudding should get a knighthood.

I came down with a serious chocolate jones and had nothing chocolaty in the house. While digging through the cabinets I found a package of Jello instant chocolate pudding that was about 18 months past its sell-by date. What the hell thought I, maybe it will work. 2 cups of milk, 1 minute of stirring and 1 hour of set time and it turned into pudding yumminess. Chocolate fix obtained, withdrawal thwarted.

I can cook and I can also cook pretty good desserts which is an entirely different skill. I can make brownies from scratch, do a killer cheesecake and can even tackle a souffle if feeling ambitious. Now I wonder why I bother. Open a box and stir with milk. It's like magic I tell ya, MAGIC!!

Instant pudding? One hour set time?
DOES NOT COMPUTE

I used to do that for a snack in high school. Are you sure you had the instant pudding? The instant pudding was... well... pretty much instant; at least by the time you were done stirring. The stuff you had to cook took about an hour. But, it got that nice chocolatey crust on the top, it was soooo much better.

And, if you're willing to wait an hour, just stock up on brownie mix the next time it's on sale for 99cents at your local grocery store. 1 minute to mix, 45 minutes to cook, and it's awesome warm. 🙂

I love the stuff too. I used to feed it to my kids and I called it chocolate mousse - when they got older and actually ate the real chocolate mousse, they liked instant pudding better.

On a practical note, if you have milk that is turning bad, cooked chocolate pudding comes out fine, but the instant stuff doesn't taste as good.

Instant = No cooking. Regular pudding requires cooking and then exceptionally long times to set up. In comparison instant is instant.

You're doing it wrong, please turn in your spoon.

Yes. The instant chocolate pudding is good. I've gotten into the habit of making quickie chocolate pies with jello instant pudding, canned whipped cream, and those pre-made graham pie crusts. That shit is awesome yo.

instant chocolate would be more like driving to the nearest convenience store and buying a chocolate bar or pudding in a cup
