My wife loves those hamster commercials, she is in the 30-40 demo. I think she just likes small animals dancing to hip hop though.

If you watched LMFAO's video for Party Rock then you would understand what the Kia commercial is doing. Taking a similar concept but applying it differently.

I like the Soul from what I've seen on the commercials. It's one of the very few vehicles that are in my price range/mileage requirements I'd consider getting.

I like a box on wheels. That means interior space is maximized. I'm just assuming that's the case with the Soul. Companies can fuck up a wet dream if given a chance, but I'm assuming it's roomy inside, which is just about more important that anything else to me. Priorities...

Price
interior room
gas mileage
a color that doesn't attract heat
Aesthetics

Build quality isn't really an issue with any maker anymore, but that would be somewhere near the top depending on specifics.
 
Yeah, I actually like the Soul. Its a pretty decent cheap car. I think it looks a hell of a lot better than the Scions and the Cube and Element.

Suzuki has a little car thing that's kinda similar that I like ok too and is supposed to be pretty decent. I think its even smaller still though.

It hits its target demographic perfectly with the music and the hamsters (just like the previos commercial "Black Sheep"). Not to mention, that (at least in the full minute-long version) Kia successfully highlights all of the new features of the 2012 Soul (LED daytime running lights, LED taillights, new rims, available GPS, etc.) all during the spot.

Mission accomplished, because the Kia Soul is BY FAR the best selling subcompact on the market. These are just the numbers for July (that's all I could dig up on short notice), but the it's been kicking ass ever since it was released:

Agreed, and the series of commercials for the Soul have made it the best selling vehicle in its class.

Annoying or not, you can't argue with success.
