Whoa, new iRiver iFP player with 512MB!

Im about to plunk down about $140 for either the iriver slimx (mp3 cd player) or the iriver 180T (mp3 player). Im having the hardest time deciding which one i want to get.

I betcha this is more than $200, and at that point I see no persuasive reason not to pony up for an iPod - 512 MB is fine, but why not have 10-30 times more storage? Frankly to me it does not make a lot of sense to have a solid-state player that holds more than 256 MB - that is already enough for even the longest workout session, and no flash memory player can ever equal an iPod or similar player, which effectively lets you store your entire record collection.

if this things around $150, I might pick one up, altho I think its gonna be upwards of $250...

It's about fvucking time. I just can't believe I still have to deal with a Clie with 8MB internal memory. And the most any of them have is 16MB. WTH is up with that? It's not 1985 anymore.

how well does it display VBR files?

I have th Kazoo 64 MB mp3 player + 128 MB MMC card. All my VBR files are shown to the average bitrate and tells time quite well. But on other files, it says it's 32 KB and the time is fast. Oh well .. doesn't matter to me much. Nice to have 32 songs fit into a pocket.

Don't get me wrong, i have the Sony DJCsomething, that plays mp3 cds, but gave it to my gf for her car.
