Just a heads up to all of you Fantasy Football nuts. AOL's free service is by far the best. You get every single option imaginable to set up your league. Real-time scoring. Updates on player status. Draft kits. League finances. Each team can personalize their logos. And many, many other options you only find in much more expensive ff leagues.

Check it out at fantasysports.aol.com/

yeah, but it costs $150 more and the only thing extra you get is a customized webpage and a mailing list.

Wouldn't you rather not have those two features (the mailing list might even be included) and have the winner get an extra $150?

before or after winamp 2?

During the middle of the winamp 2 era.

Also, AOL played a major role in the creation of the Mozilla Foundation, although GECKO was OSS before AOL bought netscape, when they decided to keep IE, they gave 2 million to the newly formed mozilla foundation

Did you guys know that AOL/Time Warner owns the rights to the song "Happy Birthday" and everytime you sing that song in public, you're violating copywright law?

That's in this month's issue? I just skimmed over it so far. Haven't had an in-depth read on it yet.

Wouldn't it be public domain by now?

That would be such sweet irony.

AOL owning Mozilla.

The FireFox people wouldn't know what to do. Use firefox because they love the browser or use something else because they hate AOL.

It gives me something to do at work besides watching Linsdey Lohan movies.

What?

OPEN SOURCE FOUNDATION.

OPEN SOURCE

once more...say it with me...

OPEN...SOURCE

As in...nobody owns it.

Netscap lisenced it before AOL bought them. Then AOL bought Netscape, then they helped found the Moz. Foundation, so that they didn't have to organize the effort any more. Now it's a completely independant org.

I think they only got around to copyrighting it in the 1970s, and thanks to "Disney Presents: Congress", copyrights for anything newer than 1920 are essentially perpetual.

I know that it's open source, I'm just saying it would be humorous if it wasn't and AOL owned it :p

That it would, but I can't see AOL having developed a browser good enough for people do actually like it w/o the mozilla open source community's success.
