FYI, the video game comes out later this year.

Unfortunately, no. When Activision and Blizzard merged, they decided to no longer support this game. The devs are still looking for a publisher and Sony (who owns the Ghostbuster IP) is talking about trying to release the game at the same time as the 25th Anniversary of Ghostbusters next year.

There's still some hope:

[UPDATE]: A Sierra Games representative told GameSpot he couldn't speak about all the titles on the list in need of a publisher, but stressed that Ghostbusters is not canceled.

Right, it's not canceled but it doesn't look like it is going to make it out this year.

Nobody is going to know until it's out. Yeah usually the sequels don't top the original but sometimes they do. As an example (In my opinion) Die Hard 3 topped Die Hard.

I smell another Indiana Jones-level cockup.

That movie made $780 million worldwide at the Box Office.
I don't care if it made an even billion, it was a terrible movie.

The movie studios don't care if it was a terrible movie; it made lots of money.

Yes, but that is not a good thing.

This could be pretty good. From what I heard it was going to be them training a new crew (after the new crew bug them enough to do it). There was word of Jack Black and recently Rogan and Apatow.

EPIC FAIL RIGHT THERE!

Fixed.

I'm largely indifferent to Jack Black. I don't think he'd fit Ghostbusters, but Rogan and Apatow sure as hell don't either. It had also better not have either of the two main kids from Superbad or Shia.

It's good to see they got all the original guys on board, but I don't hold much hope this'll be that good.
