who would win in a 1 on 1 matchup? Allen Iverson or Kobe Bryant

Allen is a great offensive player, but on defensive... I don't know, tough to call, you never really see any of these so called star players in 1 on 1 games. Its totally diff from playing on a team.

I'm a bigger laker fan than a philly fan and even I would recognize that Iverson would wallop Kobe one-on-one.

I think he was named defense player of the year in college. He's also one of the leaders in steals in the NBA. However...kobe's got a freaking huge physical advantage. Kobe would have to be horrible to lose to Iverson.

Iverson could go by Kobe with his quickness, but Kobe could easily post up Iverson with his height. Of course we've seen Iverson go by Kobe with his quickness a few times, and Kobe seems to recover to get that swat away block just as Iverson is trying to put the ball up. But overall its not really a fair comparision because Kobe is so much taller. If he wanted to, he could just shoot over the top of him all day.

Since both players would easily score on the other, I think it would depend on who was having a better shooting day. If Kobe's jumper is on, I don't see how he could lose to Iverson.

kobe would win so easy. height is the #1 factor in 1 on 1. iverson too quick for kobe??? LOLLOLOLOL. iverson cant even do shiz against TYRONE LUE. he shoots, what, one for infinity??? iverson gaurds himself!!

Since both players would easily score on the other

not true. kobe can gaurd iverson. he totally shut iverson down one regular season game a while ago.

kobe would win cause he would own the boards and he shoots better. kobe would be attampting layups while iverson would be forced to shoot fade-a-ways

both are equally talented.

but in a 1on1 case, Kobe will definately beat Iverson. look at the size advantage that Kobe has over AI, all he has to do is post up, spin and dunk over the shortie with no defensive game Iverson. Kobe's gonna have like an 85% fieldgoal percentage.

so unless Iverson can get a 90% fieldgoal percentage...

AI would school Bryant. Bryant would have to come out from the paint to nullufy AI outside shot and then AI would blow by him. It's already been determined that AI is vastly superior to Anita ..err Kobe Bryant.

I agree with trmiv, Iverson definetely has got the first step, but Kobe has decent speed plus height. Oh yeah, you can't also forget Kobe has HEART...haha 😉

Allen Iverson on the fast break goes in 1 against 3 and he always either scores or gets fouled. On 1 on 1, nobody stands a chance...

What it really comes down to is, NBA players like Iverson and Kobe are SO good offensively, that neither one stands a chance defensively against the other one in a one-on-one situation. The offensive player would always have the advantage in a matchup like this, so the advantage would change on every possession. The only reason guys like this have bad games in the NBA is because of TEAM defense. One-on-one both of them are monsters way too difficult to contain.

I think that Alvin Iverson is a better ball boouncer and thrower than is Kobe Brian. Alin would simply deek Kobe out, bounce the ball around Kobe (or run through his legs do to his shortness advantage) and put it top corner through the basket making Kobe twist inside out.

Kobe is no good.

Napalm

Ps. Sorry, I am Canadian, eh.
